Twenty-one Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza today (Sunday). The Palestinian news agency (Wafa) reported from informed sources that 8 citizens were killed in shelling in Jabalia town in the northern part of the devastated sector. Meanwhile, 4 citizens were killed and 70 others were injured by the fire of the occupation army near a aid center west of the city, and the sources confirmed the death of one citizen and the injury of others by the occupation's bullets near a distribution center for aid at what is called the "Netsarim Axis" in the middle of the sector.
The occupation army admitted that its forces opened fire in southern Gaza, but claimed that warning shots were fired at a group of people moving towards the soldiers and were considered a threat to them.
It claimed in a statement that those who were fired upon with warning shots received verbal warnings to leave the area, which was considered an active military zone at that time. The Israeli army demolished the homes of citizens and facilities in Jabalia in the northern sector and east of Gaza City. Medical sources reported that the fuel supplies in Gaza's hospitals are only enough for two days, in addition to the fact that the injured are facing difficulties in reaching hospitals in southern Gaza.
For its part, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, supported by the United States, announced that it was unable to distribute any food aid yesterday (Saturday), accusing Hamas of issuing threats that prevented work from continuing in the sector, which Hamas denied.
The foundation, which uses private American security and logistics companies to carry out its operations, stated that it has adapted its operations to overcome these unspecified threats. It said in a post on "Facebook" that its two distribution sites would reopen today (Sunday), but a Hamas official reported that he was not aware of such alleged threats.
The government media office in Gaza stated yesterday (Saturday) that the operations of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation have proven to be a complete failure on all levels, adding: "We confirm our full readiness to secure humanitarian aid from the moment it enters until it reaches its rightful recipients, in accordance with the mechanisms and standards of the United Nations fully, in order to prevent any attempts at theft, chaos, or lawlessness." Hamas called on all Palestinians to protect humanitarian aid convoys.
