أُصيب السيناتور الكولومبي ومرشح الرئاسة ميغيل أوريبي تورباي بجروح خطيرة، السبت، إثر تعرضه لإطلاق نار خلال تجمع انتخابي في العاصمة بوغوتا.
وذكرت وسائل إعلام كولومبية أن أوريبي، البالغ من العمر 39 عامًا، تلقى رصاصة في الظهر أثناء لقائه مؤيديه في حديقة «إل غولفيتو» في حي موديليا، الواقع ضمن منطقة فونتيبون غرب العاصمة.
وأظهرت مشاهد متداولة آثار دماء على رأسه وظهره، قبل أن يُنقل على وجه السرعة إلى مركز طبي، حيث وصفت حالته بأنها حرجة.
وأكدت السلطات الكولومبية توقيف مشتبه به على خلفية الحادثة، لكن لم يُكشف حتى الآن عن دافع الهجوم أو تفاصيل إضافية حول هوية الجاني.
وفي أول رد فعل حكومي، أدانت الحكومة الكولومبية الهجوم، ووصفت الحادثة بأنها «اعتداء سياسي خطير». وقالت وزيرة الخارجية لورا سارابيا عبر منصة «إكس»: «العنف لا يمكن أن يكون طريق السياسة. أتمنى بصدق أن يكون (أوريبي) بخير وخارج دائرة الخطر».
ولم تصدر حملة أوريبي الانتخابية أي بيان رسمي حتى الآن، فيما تواصل الأجهزة الأمنية التحقيق في دوافع الهجوم وملابساته.
وينتمي أوريبي إلى حزب المركز الديمقراطي اليميني، ويُعد من أبرز الوجوه السياسية الشابة في كولومبيا. وُلد في 28 يناير 1986 في بوغوتا، ويشغل حاليًا منصب عضو في مجلس الشيوخ، بعد أن سبق له تولي مناصب تنفيذية في حكومة العاصمة.
ويُعد من أبرز المنافسين في الانتخابات الرئاسية القادمة والمقررة في عام 2026، وسط تصاعد الاستقطاب السياسي في البلاد، وتوترات مستمرة بشأن الإصلاحات الأمنية والاقتصادية.
The Colombian senator and presidential candidate Miguel Uribe Turbay was seriously injured on Saturday after being shot during a campaign rally in the capital, Bogotá.
Colombian media reported that Uribe, 39 years old, was shot in the back while meeting his supporters in the "El Golfitto" park in the Modilia neighborhood, located in the Fontibón area west of the capital.
Circulating footage showed blood on his head and back before he was rushed to a medical center, where his condition was described as critical.
Colombian authorities confirmed the arrest of a suspect in connection with the incident, but the motive for the attack and additional details about the assailant's identity have not yet been revealed.
In the first government reaction, the Colombian government condemned the attack, describing the incident as a "serious political assault." Foreign Minister Laura Sarabia stated on the "X" platform: "Violence cannot be a path in politics. I sincerely hope that (Uribe) is okay and out of danger."
Uribe's campaign has not issued any official statement yet, while security agencies continue to investigate the motives and circumstances of the attack.
Uribe belongs to the right-wing Democratic Center party and is considered one of the prominent young political figures in Colombia. He was born on January 28, 1986, in Bogotá, and currently serves as a member of the Senate, having previously held executive positions in the capital's government.
He is regarded as one of the main competitors in the upcoming presidential elections scheduled for 2026, amid rising political polarization in the country and ongoing tensions regarding security and economic reforms.
