أعلن البيت الأبيض، انتهاء عمل الملياردير إيلون ماسك كمستشار أول للرئيس دونالد ترمب، بعد قيادته لإدارة الكفاءة الحكومية (DOGE) لمدة تزيد عن أربعة أشهر، ووجهت المتحدثة باسم البيت الأبيض، كارولاين ليفيت، الشكر لماسك على «خدماته الاستثنائية»، مشيدة بدوره في تقليص عدد الموظفين الفيدراليين وإعادة هيكلة الوكالات الحكومية.
وأكدت ليفيت أن جهود تقليص حجم الحكومة ستستمر، حيث يعمل البيت الأبيض على إرسال مقترحات إلغاء تمويل بقيمة 9,4 مليار دولار إلى الكونغرس، تشمل 1,1 مليار دولار من هيئة الإذاعة العامة و8,3 مليار دولار من المساعدات الخارجية.
وفي منشور له على منصة إكس، قال ماسك: «مع انتهاء فترة عملي كموظف حكومي خاص، أود أن أشكر الرئيس دونالد ترمب على منحي فرصة تقليص الإنفاق المهدر، ستزداد مهمة DOGE قوة بمرور الوقت لتصبح أسلوب حياة في جميع أنحاء الحكومة».
وعُيّن الملياردير الأمريكي إيلون ماسك، الرئيس التنفيذي لشركتي تسلا وسبيس إكس، كموظف حكومي خاص لقيادة إدارة الكفاءة الحكومية (DOGE) في إدارة الرئيس دونالد ترامب في يناير 2025، وكانت مهمة ماسك الأساسية هي تقليص الإنفاق الفيدرالي وإعادة هيكلة البيروقراطية الحكومية من خلال خفض عدد الموظفين الفيدراليين وإلغاء البرامج التي اعتُبرت غير ضرورية.

The White House announced the end of billionaire Elon Musk's role as senior advisor to President Donald Trump after leading the Government Efficiency Office (DOGE) for more than four months. White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt thanked Musk for his "exceptional services," praising his role in reducing the number of federal employees and restructuring government agencies.
Levitt confirmed that efforts to downsize the government would continue, as the White House works on sending proposals to cut funding worth $9.4 billion to Congress, which includes $1.1 billion from the Public Broadcasting Service and $8.3 billion from foreign aid.
In a post on the X platform, Musk said: "With my tenure as a special government employee coming to an end, I would like to thank President Donald Trump for giving me the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending. The mission of DOGE will grow stronger over time to become a way of life throughout the government."

Musk's primary mission was to reduce federal spending and restructure the government bureaucracy by cutting the number of federal employees and eliminating programs deemed unnecessary.
During his tenure of about 130 days, the maximum allowed for special government employees, Musk oversaw the layoff of approximately 260,000 federal employees, nearly 12% of the federal civilian workforce of 2.3 million employees, through layoffs, early retirement deals, and buyouts. He also targeted the elimination of agencies such as the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and programs like public funding for National Public Radio (NPR) and PBS, which sparked widespread controversy and legal challenges.
A report from The Washington Post indicated that the billionaire expressed frustration over the challenges he faced in Washington, stating: "The state of the federal bureaucracy is much worse than I imagined; it’s a tough battle to improve things in the capital."
For his part, House Speaker Mike Johnson praised Musk's work, confirming that the House is "eager and ready to work on the results of DOGE," referring to the ongoing efforts to cut spending. However, Musk's efforts drew sharp criticism from Democrats and unions, who argued that the cuts harmed government services, such as healthcare for veterans and international aid programs.
