أكدت وسائل إعلام سورية اليوم (الخميس) إصابة 6 أشخاص في انفجار عبوة ناسفة استهدفت سيارة إسعاف بريف السويداء الغربي جنوبي سورية، موضحة أن سيارة الإسعاف كانت تنقل مرضى لغسل الكلى قبل تعرضها لانفجار بعبوة ناسفة على طريق عريقة نجران في ريف السويداء الغربي.
وذكرت المصادر أنه تم نقل المصابين إلى المستشفى الوطني، مبينة أن من بين المصابين سائقاً ومسعفاً إضافة إلى 4 مصابين من أهالي بلدة عريقة (رجلين وسيدتين)، كانت تنقلهم سيارة الإسعاف إلى المشفى الوطني لإجراء غسل الكلى.
وأشارت المصادر إلى أن الجميع أصيبوا بشظايا متفرقة، ولم يعرف بعد الجهة المتورطة في الانفجار، وتجري الأجهزة الأمنية في السويداء عملية بحث وتحرٍ عن المتورطين.
من جهة أخرى، أعلن المبعوث الخاص للأمين العام للأمم المتحدة إلى سورية غير بيدرسون دعم المنظمة الأممية الإصلاحات التي تقودها الإدارة السورية الجديدة، مؤكدا التزامها بمواصلة العمل مع مؤسسات الدولة لضمان انتقال سياسي ناجح وشامل في البلاد.
وأوضح بيدرسون عقب سلسلة لقاءات أجراها مع عدد من الوزراء السوريين بدمشق، في أول زيارة من نوعها منذ إعلان الدولة الجديدة في يناير 2025، أن المحادثات ركزت على الإصلاحات المؤسسية في مجالات العدالة والأمن والتعليم، وهي مجالات تعتبرها الأمم المتحدة أساسية لضمان التحول السلمي في سورية.
وأشار إلى أنه عقد اجتماعاً «مثمراً» مع وزير العدل مظهر الويس، ناقشا فيه سبل تعزيز الإصلاح القضائي في سورية، كما اطلع على الإجراءات التي اتخذت بالفعل، وعرض التحديات التي تواجه الوزارة، والحاجة إلى دعم الأمم المتحدة والمنظمات الدولية لتطوير النظام القضائي وضمان استقلاليته، مبيناً أنه التقى وزير الداخلية أنس خطاب، ووصف اللقاء «بالبنّاء» خصوصاً أنه استعرض معه طرق إصلاح قطاع الأمن وإعادة الهيكلة التنظيمية التي قامت بها الوزارة أخيراً، في إطار مساعيها لتعزيز بيئة أمنية مستقرة وشاملة في البلاد.
Syrian media confirmed today (Thursday) that 6 people were injured in an explosion of a bomb targeting an ambulance in the western countryside of Sweida, southern Syria. It was clarified that the ambulance was transporting patients for kidney dialysis before it was hit by the explosion on the Areeqa Najran road in the western countryside of Sweida.
The sources mentioned that the injured were transferred to the national hospital, indicating that among the injured were a driver and a paramedic, in addition to 4 injured individuals from the town of Areeqa (two men and two women), who were being transported by the ambulance to the national hospital for kidney dialysis.
The sources pointed out that everyone was injured by scattered shrapnel, and the party involved in the explosion has not yet been identified. Security agencies in Sweida are conducting a search and investigation for those involved.
On another note, the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen, announced the organization's support for the reforms led by the new Syrian administration, affirming its commitment to continue working with state institutions to ensure a successful and comprehensive political transition in the country.
Pedersen explained, following a series of meetings with several Syrian ministers in Damascus, during his first visit of its kind since the announcement of the new state in January 2025, that the discussions focused on institutional reforms in the areas of justice, security, and education, which the United Nations considers essential to ensure a peaceful transition in Syria.
He noted that he held a "fruitful" meeting with Minister of Justice Mazhar al-Aweis, during which they discussed ways to enhance judicial reform in Syria. He also reviewed the measures that have already been taken and presented the challenges facing the ministry, as well as the need for support from the United Nations and international organizations to develop the judicial system and ensure its independence. He mentioned that he met with Minister of Interior Anas Khattab, describing the meeting as "constructive," especially as they discussed ways to reform the security sector and the organizational restructuring that the ministry has recently undertaken, as part of its efforts to enhance a stable and inclusive security environment in the country.
