أفصحت مصادر مطلعة أنّ الولايات المتحدة طلبت من إسرائيل تأجيل العملية البرية الكبرى في قطاع غزة لاستنفاد محادثات صفقة الأسرى.
ونقلت صحيفة «جيروزاليم بوست» عن المصادر قولها: إن الطلب الأمريكي تضمن عنصرين رئيسيين هما تأجيل العملية الشاملة في قطاع غزة، وتمكين المفاوضات الجارية من المضي قدماً.
وحسب الصحيفة، فإن مسؤولين إسرائيليين أكدوا أنه بمجرد بدء العملية البرية الشاملة في غزة، لن تنسحب إسرائيل من المناطق التي تدخلها، حتى كجزء من اتفاق محتمل. وسيصبح احتمال وقف إطلاق النار كجزء من أي اتفاق أكثر تعقيداً.
وأفادت بأنّه رغم مغادرة الوفد الإسرائيلي قطر الخميس الماضي، فإن الإدارة الأمريكية تواصل محادثاتها غير المباشرة مع حركة حماس. ونقلت عن مسؤولين إسرائيليين أنّ الاتفاق الوحيد المطروح حالياً ضمن «خطة ويتكوف» التي تتضمن إطلاق سراح 10 أسرى ووقف إطلاق النار لمدة 60 يوماً.
وكان وزير الدفاع الإسرائيلي يوآف غالانت قال في وقت سابق، إنه بمجرد بدء المناورة، سنعمل بكل قوة ولن نتوقف حتى تحقيق جميع الأهداف.
ورغم أن رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو لم يستبعد قبل أيام الموافقة على وقف مؤقت لوقف إطلاق النار «إذا كانت هناك فرصة لإعادة الأسرى»، إلا أن الصحيفة نقلت عن أحد المصادر تأكيده أن المفاوضات أمام «طريق مسدود».
وفيما أعلنت حماس استعدادها لإطلاق سراح الأسرى الإسرائيليين دفعة واحدة، مقابل إنهاء حرب الإبادة، وانسحاب الجيش الإسرائيلي من غزة، والإفراج عن أسرى فلسطينيين، فإن رئيس حكومة الاحتلال يصر على شروطه لإنهاء الحرب قائلاً «مستعد لإنهاء القتال وفق شروط واضحة: إعادة جميع المختطفين، ونفي قيادة حماس من غزة، ونزع سلاح حماس».

Informed sources revealed that the United States has requested Israel to postpone the major ground operation in the Gaza Strip to exhaust negotiations for a prisoner exchange deal.
The "Jerusalem Post" reported that the American request included two main elements: postponing the comprehensive operation in the Gaza Strip and allowing the ongoing negotiations to proceed.
According to the newspaper, Israeli officials confirmed that once the comprehensive ground operation in Gaza begins, Israel will not withdraw from the areas it enters, even as part of a potential agreement. The likelihood of a ceasefire as part of any agreement will become more complicated.
It reported that despite the departure of the Israeli delegation from Qatar last Thursday, the U.S. administration continues its indirect talks with Hamas. It quoted Israeli officials stating that the only agreement currently on the table under the "Witkoff Plan" involves the release of 10 prisoners and a ceasefire for 60 days.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant previously stated that once the maneuver begins, we will act with full force and will not stop until all objectives are achieved.
Although Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not rule out a temporary ceasefire "if there is a chance to return the captives," the newspaper quoted one source confirming that negotiations are at a "dead end."
While Hamas announced its readiness to release Israeli prisoners all at once in exchange for ending the genocide, withdrawing the Israeli army from Gaza, and releasing Palestinian prisoners, the head of the occupying government insists on his conditions to end the war, stating, "I am ready to end the fighting under clear conditions: the return of all captives, the expulsion of Hamas leadership from Gaza, and the disarmament of Hamas."
