بعد ساعات من إعلانها وقوع حادثة خطيرة خلال حفل تدشين سفينة حربية، أطلقت كوريا الشمالية اليوم (الخميس) عدداً من الصواريخ المجنّحة باتجاه البحر.
وقالت هيئة الأركان المشتركة في كوريا الجنوبية إنها رصدت إطلاق عدد من الصواريخ المجنّحة غير محددة من مقاطعة هامغيونغ الجنوبية في كوريا الشمالية باتجاه البحر الشرقي، المعروف أيضاً ببحر اليابان. ونقلت وكالة الأنباء المركزية الكورية عن الزعيم كيم جونغ قوله إن الأخطاء غير المسؤولة التي ارتكبها المسؤولون المذنبون ستُعالج في الاجتماع الكامل للجنة المركزية للحزب المقرر عقده الشهر القادم، وذلك بعد وقوع «حادثة خطيرة» تمثلت في فشل إطلاق مدمرة يبلغ وزنها 5 آلاف طن في كوريا الشمالية.
واعتبر كيم هذا الفشل «عملاً إجرامياً ناتجاً عن إهمال لا يُغتفر»، موضحاً أن الحادثة نجمت عن قلة خبرة القيادة والإهمال التشغيلي أثناء تدشين السفينة، ما أدى إلى سحق بعض أجزائها.
وقال كيم إن الحادثة «أدت إلى انهيار كرامة دولتنا واحترامها لذاتها»، مضيفاً أن استعادة المدمرة فوراً ليست مجرد قضية عملية، وإنما أيضاً قضية سياسية تتعلق مباشرة بسلطة الدولة.
وذكرت الوكالة أن الحادثة دمرت توازن السفينة الحربية، لكن الوكالة الكورية الشمالية لم تحدد اسم المدمرة التي تعرضت للحادثة.
وذكرت الوكالة أن الحادثة وقعت في حوض لبناء السفن بمدينة تشونغجين، بسبب اختلال التوازن أثناء تدشين السفينة.
وكانت كوريا الشمالية قد دشنت الفرقاطة Choi Hyon، كأكبر سفينة سطحية بنتها على الإطلاق، ما يمثل مَعْلماً رئيسياً في تجديد قدرات الحرب السطحية للدولة الواقعة في شرق آسيا، كما أطلقت مدمرة أخرى من الحجم نفسه في أبريل، بحضور كيم، في حوض بناء السفن في نامفو على الساحل الغربي.
وشهدت كوريا الشمالية في السابق حوادث مثل فشل إطلاق مركبات فضائية وكوارث مدنية استخدمت في ما بعد للترويج لدور القيادة وحزب العمال الحاكم لتصويب المشكلات.
وتحظر عقوبات الأمم المتحدة على كوريا الشمالية امتلاك الصواريخ البالستية بسبب برنامجها النووي.
Hours after announcing a serious incident during the commissioning ceremony of a warship, North Korea launched a number of cruise missiles towards the sea today (Thursday).
The Joint Chiefs of Staff in South Korea reported that they detected the launch of several unspecified cruise missiles from South Hamgyong Province in North Korea towards the eastern sea, also known as the Sea of Japan. The Korean Central News Agency quoted leader Kim Jong Un as saying that the irresponsible mistakes made by the guilty officials would be addressed at the upcoming full meeting of the Central Committee of the party scheduled for next month, following the occurrence of a "serious incident" involving the failure to launch a 5,000-ton destroyer in North Korea.
Kim considered this failure to be a "criminal act resulting from unforgivable negligence," explaining that the incident stemmed from a lack of leadership experience and operational neglect during the ship's commissioning, which led to some of its parts being crushed.
Kim stated that the incident "led to the collapse of our country's dignity and self-respect," adding that the immediate restoration of the destroyer is not just a practical issue, but also a political matter directly related to the authority of the state.
The agency reported that the incident destroyed the balance of the warship, but the North Korean agency did not specify the name of the destroyer that was involved in the incident.
The agency mentioned that the incident occurred in a shipbuilding yard in the city of Chongjin, due to a loss of balance during the ship's commissioning.
North Korea had previously launched the Choi Hyon frigate, the largest surface ship it has ever built, marking a major milestone in renewing the country's surface warfare capabilities in East Asia. It also launched another destroyer of the same size in April, in the presence of Kim, at the shipyard in Nampho on the west coast.
North Korea has previously experienced incidents such as failed launches of spacecraft and civil disasters that were later used to promote the leadership's role and the ruling Workers' Party in addressing problems.
UN sanctions prohibit North Korea from possessing ballistic missiles due to its nuclear program.
