بعد يومين من اعتقال الشخص الثاني، أعلنت شرطة لندن، اليوم (الإثنين)، اعتقال رجل ثالث على خلفية حرائق في عقارات مرتبطة برئيس الوزراء البريطاني كير ستارمر، موضحة أن المشتبه به يبلغ من العمر 34 عاماً.
وقالت الشرطة إن المتهم اعتُقل على خلفية سلسلة من هجمات الحرق العمد في شمال لندن وبتهمة «الاشتباه في التآمر لارتكاب حرائق عمد بقصد تعريض حياة الآخرين للخطر»، مبينة أن ثلاث تهم وجهت بالفعل، ومنها إشعال حرائق عمدا، لمواطن أوكراني، تتعلق بحرائق في وقت سابق من هذا الشهر، كما أُلقي القبض على رجل ثانٍ في مطار لوتون يوم السبت للاشتباه في صلته بسلسلة الحرائق، وذلك بعد يوم من إبقاء رجل أوكراني رهن الاحتجاز على صلة بالحرائق.
وقالت الشرطة (السبت): المتهم الثاني يبلغ من العمر 26 عاماً وألقي القبض عليه في مطار لوتون بلندن، للاشتباه في تآمره لإشعال حريق بقصد تعريض حياة الآخرين للخطر، وأوردت الوقائع نفسها التي شملت عقارات مرتبطة بستارمر.
ومثل رومان لافرينوفيتش، وهو أوكراني عمره 21 عاماً، أمام محكمة وستمنستر الجزئية (الجمعة) ووجهت له ثلاث تهم بالحرق العمد بقصد تعريض حياة الآخرين للخطر، وذلك على خلفية الحرائق الثلاثة التي وقعت الأسبوع الماضي.
واستدعيت الشرطة البريطانية، الأسبوع الماضي، إلى موقع حريق اندلع في عقار في كينتيش تاون بشمال لندن، وهي الدائرة الانتخابية التي يمثلها ستارمر، ولم يُصب أحد بأذى، ولكن تضرر مدخل العقار، وأُلقي القبض على لافرينوفيتش في اليوم التالي على خلفية الحريق وحادثين آخرين، هما حريق عند مدخل مبنى سكني في إزلنجتون القريبة، وآخر يتعلق بسيارة «تويوتا راف 4 في كينتيش تاون»، وكلاهما وقعا في يومين منفصلين. وقال شهود للمحكمة إن السيارة والعقارين مرتبطة بستارمر.
Two days after the arrest of the second individual, London police announced today (Monday) the arrest of a third man in connection with fires at properties linked to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, stating that the suspect is 34 years old.
The police said that the accused was arrested in connection with a series of arson attacks in North London and on charges of "suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson with the intent to endanger the lives of others," noting that three charges have already been brought, including arson, against a Ukrainian national, related to fires earlier this month. A second man was also arrested at Luton Airport on Saturday on suspicion of his connection to the series of fires, just a day after a Ukrainian man was kept in custody in relation to the fires.
The police stated (on Saturday): the second suspect is 26 years old and was arrested at Luton Airport in London, on suspicion of conspiring to set a fire with the intent to endanger the lives of others, and referenced the same incidents involving properties linked to Starmer.
Roman Lavrinovych, a 21-year-old Ukrainian, appeared before Westminster Magistrates' Court (on Friday) and was charged with three counts of arson with the intent to endanger the lives of others, in connection with the three fires that occurred last week.
British police were called last week to the site of a fire that broke out at a property in Kentish Town in North London, the constituency represented by Starmer. No one was injured, but the entrance of the property was damaged, and Lavrinovych was arrested the following day in connection with the fire and two other incidents: a fire at the entrance of a residential building in nearby Islington, and another involving a Toyota RAV4 in Kentish Town, both occurring on separate days. Witnesses told the court that the vehicle and the two properties are linked to Starmer.
