كشفت وسائل إعلام أفغانية اليوم (السبت) عن مقتل قائد حدودي من حركة طالبان في اشتباك مع حرس الحدود الباكستاني بإقليم باكتيكا.
ونقلت وكالة «خاما برس» الأفغانية للأنباء عن ما وصفتها بالمصادر المحلية أن القتيل هو صبغة الله متين الذي كان يشغل منصب رئيس اللوجستيات في اللواء الرابع لفيلق المنصوري التابع لطالبان، مبينة أن الاشتباك أسفر عن مقتل اثنين من مقاتلي طالبان، أحدهما قائد حدودي لدى الحركة، وخمسة جنود باكستانيين، وإصابة أربعة عناصر آخرين من طالبان.وأشارت إلى أن السبب الدقيق للمواجهة لا يزال غير واضح، حيث لم يعلق مسؤولون من طالبان ولا باكستان بشكل علني على الحادث.وشهدت العلاقات بين أفغانستان وباكستان أخيراً تدهوراً غير مسبوق ينذر بتصعيد قد يهدد استقرار المنطقة، وذلك مع بروز مؤشرات جديدة تضع العلاقات على حافة الهاوية واستمرار إغلاق معبر طورخم، الشريان الاقتصادي الرئيس بين البلدين الذي تسبب بأزمة إنسانية واقتصادية.
Afghan media revealed today (Saturday) the killing of a border commander from the Taliban in a clash with Pakistani border guards in Paktika province.
The Afghan news agency "Khaama Press" reported, citing what it described as local sources, that the deceased is Sabghatullah Mateen, who held the position of logistics chief in the 4th Brigade of the Mansoori Corps affiliated with the Taliban. The report indicated that the clash resulted in the deaths of two Taliban fighters, one of whom was a border commander for the movement, five Pakistani soldiers, and the injury of four other Taliban members. It noted that the exact reason for the confrontation remains unclear, as officials from both the Taliban and Pakistan have not publicly commented on the incident. Recently, relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan have deteriorated to an unprecedented level, raising concerns of an escalation that could threaten the stability of the region, with new indicators putting the relationship on the brink and the continued closure of the Torkham crossing, the main economic artery between the two countries, causing a humanitarian and economic crisis.
