ينطلق التمرين التعبوي لفرضية مكافحة التلوث البحري بالزيت «استجابة 18» غداً (الأربعاء)، وذلك في المنطقة الشرقية على سواحل محافظة الجبيل، بافتراض وقوع حادثة للناقلات والسفن التجارية ينتج عنها تسرب محتمل لكميات كبيرة غير محددة من الزيت والمواد الضارة، منطلقاً من ميناء الجبيل التجاري بإشراف المركز الوطني للرقابة على الالتزام، وبمشاركة نحو 46 جهة من القطاع الخاص والحكومي والقطاع الثالث، من ضمنها وزارة الطاقة ممثلة في أرامكو ومرافق والشركة السعودية للكهرباء القطاع الشرقي، إضافة إلى شركة سيل الشريك الإستراتيجي للمركز، إلى جانب منظمة وزارة الداخلية ممثلة في إمارة المنطقة الشرقية وحرس الحدود والأمن البيئي والدفاع المدني والهلال الأحمر، والقوات البحرية الملكية السعودية، والهيئة العامة للموانئ ممثلة في ميناء الجبيل التجاري.
ويهدف التمرين لتحقيق أقصى درجات الجاهزية والتأهب لمواجهة أي تلوث بحري في شواطئ المملكة، وذلك وفقاً للخطة الوطنية لمكافحة التلوث بالزيت.
وتشمل فرضية التمرين تنفيذ الخطة الوطنية لمكافحة التلوث البحري بالزيت في المنطقة الشرقية، بمشاركة أكثر من 46 جهة حكومية وخاصة ذات صلة بالمجالات المعنية بهذا التمرين.
The oil spill response exercise "Response 18" will kick off tomorrow (Wednesday) in the Eastern Province along the coasts of Al-Jubail Governorate, assuming an incident involving tankers and commercial vessels that results in a potential spill of large, unspecified quantities of oil and harmful substances, starting from the Jubail Commercial Port under the supervision of the National Center for Compliance Monitoring, with the participation of about 46 entities from the private, governmental, and third sectors, including the Ministry of Energy represented by Aramco, Marafiq, and the Saudi Electricity Company in the Eastern sector, in addition to the strategic partner company, Seel, alongside the Ministry of Interior represented by the Eastern Province Emirate, Border Guard, Environmental Security, Civil Defense, Red Crescent, the Royal Saudi Navy, and the General Authority for Ports represented by the Jubail Commercial Port.
The exercise aims to achieve the highest levels of readiness and preparedness to face any marine pollution along the shores of the Kingdom, in accordance with the National Oil Spill Response Plan.
The exercise scenario includes implementing the National Oil Spill Response Plan in the Eastern Province, with the participation of more than 46 relevant governmental and private entities related to the fields concerned with this exercise.
