The primary and intermediate schools, except for the first and second grades of primary school, are preparing to implement the central tests along with the end-of-first-semester exams in Arabic language, English language, science, and mathematics.
The Ministry of Education indicated that the central tests are prepared by specialized committees in the education administration and are technically evaluated by another education administration in the subjects that are assessed at the end through questions with specific specifications and controls in light of the curricula. These tests are applied at the end of the academic period as part of the end-of-year exams for all students in public and private general education to measure the level of academic achievement.
The Director General of Education has the authority to apply the central tests for one or more additional periods.
The Ministry of Education pointed out that the committees responsible for the central tests in the education administrations are three: the supervisory committee, the technical committee, and the academic achievement committee. Their tasks include overseeing all processes of organizing and implementing the central tests, approving the additional periods in which the tests are applied, the targeted grades and subjects, identifying challenges and risks of implementation and working to address them, forming a technical committee to build the test models, evaluating them, uploading them in the testing system, and preserving the constructed test models, as well as preserving the alternative test models sent from the General Administration for Evaluating Cognitive and Skill Performance, and sending them to schools when needed. They also form monitoring committees to oversee the implementation of the tests in schools and submit a final report after the tests to the General Administration for Evaluating Cognitive and Skill Performance, approving the report on the results of re-evaluating the random sample, comparing it with what is recorded, and submitting it to the General Administration for Evaluating Cognitive and Skill Performance.
