تسلّمت المملكة العربية السعودية اليوم، جائزة التقدير الفني العالمية لمنظمة الأغذية والزراعة للأمم المتحدة «الفاو»، تحت فئة (المشاريع الرائدة في التعاون بين بلدان الجنوب والتعاون الثلاثي)، التي حصل عليها برنامج التنمية الريفية الزراعية المستدامة «ريف السعودية»، أكبر برنامج تنموي زراعي على مستوى العالم، لتميزه في تطبيق أفضل الممارسات والمبادرات المبتكرة في تعزيز الأمن الغذائي وحول نظم الأغذية الزراعية.
وتسلّم وزير البيئة والمياه والزراعة المهندس عبدالرحمن بن عبدالمحسن الفضلي، الجائزة باسم المملكة، خلال الحفل الذي أقيم في العاصمة الإيطالية روما - احتفالات «الفاو» بمرور 80 عاماً على تأسيس المنظمة، بالتزامن مع النسخة الخامسة من منتدى الأغذية العالمي، خلال الفترة من 10 إلى 17 أكتوبر الجاري، بمشاركة عدد من جهات منظومة البيئة والمياه والزراعة، وتم تسليم الجائزة في إطار التعاون الفني بين منظمة «الفاو» والمملكة لتحقيق التنمية المستدامة.
وبهذه المناسبة، أكد المهندس الفضلي، أن هذه الجائزة تأتي تقديراً لجهود المملكة الرائدة في تطوير القطاع الزراعي الريفي، والتعاون البناء بين الوزارة والمنظمة، موضحاً أن الجائزة تسهم في إبراز النموذج الرائد للمملكة في التنمية الزراعية المستدامة محلياً وإقليمياً ودولياً، وتعكس تميزها في تعزيز الشراكات الدولية، بما يسهم في دعم مستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030، في مجالات الأمن الغذائي، والتنمية الريفية، والاستدامة البيئية.
يُشار إلى أن برنامج «ريف السعودية»، نجح في تمكين ما يزيد على ٨٠ ألف مستفيد في جميع مناطق المملكة، وقدّم دعماً مالياً مباشراً للمستفيدين في قطاعاته الثمانية بأكثر من ٣ مليارات ريال خلال السنوات الخمس الماضية؛ ما أسهم بشكل مباشر في رفع مستوى دخل المزارعين، وتوفير أكثر من ٧٠ ألف وظيفة مباشرة وغير مباشرة، إضافة إلى زراعة أكثر من ١٥ مليون شتلة زراعية، ودعم نحو ٢٥٠ مليون كيلوغراماً من الإنتاج الزراعي.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia received today the Global Recognition Award from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), under the category of (Pioneering Projects in South-South Cooperation and Triangular Cooperation), awarded to the Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program "Riyadh Saudi Arabia," the largest agricultural development program in the world, for its excellence in applying best practices and innovative initiatives in enhancing food security and agricultural food systems.
The Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, Engineer Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, received the award on behalf of the Kingdom during a ceremony held in the Italian capital, Rome, as part of the FAO's celebrations marking 80 years since the organization's establishment, coinciding with the fifth edition of the Global Food Forum, from October 10 to 17, with the participation of several entities from the environment, water, and agriculture sectors. The award was presented within the framework of the technical cooperation between the FAO and the Kingdom to achieve sustainable development.
On this occasion, Engineer Al-Fadhli emphasized that this award comes in recognition of the Kingdom's pioneering efforts in developing the rural agricultural sector and the constructive cooperation between the ministry and the organization, explaining that the award contributes to highlighting the Kingdom's leading model in sustainable agricultural development locally, regionally, and internationally, and reflects its excellence in enhancing international partnerships, which supports the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in the areas of food security, rural development, and environmental sustainability.
It is noteworthy that the "Riyadh Saudi Arabia" program has successfully empowered more than 80,000 beneficiaries across all regions of the Kingdom and provided direct financial support to beneficiaries in its eight sectors of more than 3 billion riyals over the past five years; this has directly contributed to increasing farmers' income, creating more than 70,000 direct and indirect jobs, in addition to planting over 15 million agricultural seedlings and supporting approximately 250 million kilograms of agricultural production.
