On its 95th National Day, Saudi Arabia is moving towards enhancing its regional and global role, and valuing its investment in the Saudi human capital.
On National Day, the Kingdom has reached a prestigious global status, qualifying it to support the fundamental pillar of the Saudi renaissance, which is based on its people.
As a country the size of a continent, with vast capabilities and growing resources, the Kingdom has given significant attention to the tourism sector, which has become evident in the numbers achieved by the sector recently, revealing the magnitude of the tremendous progress and the notable figures and targets.
Recently, the Ministry of Tourism announced that the Saudi Summer Program 2025 achieved record numbers in preliminary tourism indicators, with the number of tourists from both domestic and international sources across all Saudi destinations exceeding 32 million, marking a growth of 26% compared to the Summer 2024 season. Additionally, spending by tourists from both domestic and international sources during the season reached approximately 53.2 billion riyals, achieving a growth of 15% over last summer, while Asir recorded exceptional growth in the number of tourists coming from Gulf Cooperation Council countries by 49%.
Several factors contribute to this success, foremost among them being the efforts of the Saudi tourism system in developing the sector and enhancing the promotion of national tourism components, as part of the objectives of Vision 2030, which aims to establish Saudi Arabia as a leading global tourist destination by introducing quality tourism products, hosting global events and cultural activities, and improving the quality of tourism services to meet the aspirations of tourists and achieve the objectives of Vision 2030.
The Minister of Tourism recently launched the Saudi Summer Program under the slogan "Color Your Summer," during a workshop that brought together the Saudi tourism system with partners from the government and private sectors. The program aimed to promote six diverse tourist destinations, including marine destinations in Jeddah and the Red Sea, mountainous areas in Taif, Al-Baha, and Asir, as well as major events like the World Electronic Sports Cup, Jeddah Season, and Asir Season, which included many programs, activities, and special events.
It is worth noting that the efforts of the tourism system continue to attract tourists from various countries around the world throughout the year, with preparations underway to launch the winter season soon, which will bring with it many global events and innovative tourism products.
