The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture has adopted regulations and requirements for the packaging and wrapping of vegetables and fruits in public benefit markets. The requirements focus on the agricultural product label, plastic and cardboard containers, and packaging specifications. Each container must include a label of the agricultural product, and each container for approved sales units must have a label of the agricultural product, which includes details such as the product name, net weight, packing date, country of origin, and supplier or producer details (agricultural registration number), along with the name and logo. The containers must be made from materials that comply with food specifications, can withstand pressure, are recyclable, and allow for adequate air circulation inside the container.

The regulations stipulate that the design of cardboard containers should be made from corrugated cardboard to withstand storage pressure, and the container must have a separate or attached lid made from the same material. Additionally, the cardboard boxes on the pallets must be covered from the outside to prevent contamination during storage or transportation.

The ministry clarified that the internal surfaces of the boxes may be coated or painted or saturated with any moisture-resistant material, provided that it does not affect the fruits, to ensure the quality and safety of food products during handling and distribution. This decision comes as part of the ministry's commitment to human health and safety and environmental preservation, as it calls on investors and producers to comply with the regulations and requirements to ensure quality and safety in the trade of agricultural products.
