تعزيز الاستفادة من تقنيات البيانات والذكاء الاصطناعي وفقاً لضوابط أخلاقية

The International Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Ethics (ICAIRE) affiliated with UNESCO in Riyadh has called for enhancing the utilization of data and artificial intelligence technologies; according to robust ethical guidelines that ensure their deployment to build a more inclusive, sustainable, and peaceful world for the benefit of all humanity, and to increase trust in the use of these advanced technologies in light of the rapid development of their tools and applications in various aspects of life.

The center (ICAIRE) emphasized the necessity of adopting clear standards and practical practices that ensure the effective application of artificial intelligence ethics across all fields, thereby enhancing the reliability of these technologies and mitigating their potential risks. It called for the commitment of relevant authorities in various countries to these standards to ensure the safe and fair use of emerging technologies.

This came during a series of meetings organized by the center, both in-person and remotely, with specialists and academics in artificial intelligence from: the Sultanate of Oman, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Kingdom of Morocco, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Libya, and the State of Palestine, with the presence of several officials from UNESCO, the Arab League, the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), the Arab Organization for Information and Communication Technology, the Gulf Cooperation Council, international artificial intelligence experts, and policymakers.

Through these meetings, the center aimed to affirm the importance of responsible use of artificial intelligence technologies in the Arab world by developing practical practices among policymakers, experts, and academics, and exchanging Arab experiences in this field, which included showcasing the experiences of: the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Kingdom of Morocco in applying UNESCO's Artificial Intelligence Readiness Assessment (RAM) methodology, alongside highlighting the establishment of secure artificial intelligence systems in collaboration with specialized institutions, and discussing the ethical challenges facing scientific research, including issues of privacy, forgery, bias, and reliability. These meetings reflected the role of the center as a cultural knowledge bridge on the topics of artificial intelligence ethics, and a leading international platform for exchanging experiences and supporting the alignment of national policies with global frameworks in this vital field, contributing to enhancing the reliability of artificial intelligence and raising the level of countries' readiness to adopt it in an ethically responsible manner.
