أكدت وزارة التعليم أن المواد الدراسية في مدارس التعليم العام التي يتم تقويم الطالب فيها تقويماً ختامياً هي الرياضيات واللغة العربية في الصفين الأول والثاني الابتدائي والصف الأول للتعليم المستمر، والرياضيات واللغة العربية واللغة الإنجليزية والعلوم في باقي الصفوف، بينما يكون التقويم تكوينياً في ما عدا ذلك من المواد الدراسية.
وبينت الوزارة في دليل توزيع درجات المواد الدراسية للعام الدراسي الحالي، أنه يُنفذ التقويم التكويني باستمرار بعد كل وحدة دراسية في جميع المواد الدراسية، بهدف دعم التحصيل الدراسي للطالب حتى نهاية الفترة الدراسية، ويتم إجراء اختبارات تحريرية قصيرة من 20 درجة مرتين على الأقل خلال الفترة الدراسية في جميع المواد الدراسية، ويمكن استبدال الاختبارات التحريرية القصيرة بتطبيقات عملية من 20 درجة في بعض المواد ذات الطبيعة التطبيقية؛ مثل: التربية البدنية، والفنون وغيرها، وترصد درجة التقويمات في النظام الإلكتروني مرتين خلال الفترة الدراسية، مشيرةً إلى تطبيق النسبة الشرطية 20% من درجة الاختبار التحريري في المواد التي تُقوَّم تقويماً ختامياً «نهاية العام الدراسي في المرحلتين الابتدائية والمتوسطة»، ونهاية كل فترة دراسية «في المرحلة الثانوية» وعند إخفاق الطالب في المادة الدراسية ودخوله الدور الثاني يتم الاحتفاظ بجزء من الدرجات التي حققها خلال الفترة الدراسية وتمثل 40 درجة، ويختبر الدور الثاني من 60 درجة.
وأوضحت أن المواد الدراسية التي تشتمل على تطبيقات عملية أو تقويمات شفهية يكون تقويم الطالب فيها مستمراً وبشكل دوري خلال الفترة الدراسية، بحيث يرصد للطالب نهاية الفترة الدراسية مجموع ما تحصل عليه، وعند تعذر تقويم الطالب في الجانب العملي لأي سبب كان، إما لعدم توفر الأدوات أو التجهيزات (معامل مختبرات) يتم تقويم الطالب من خلال المشاريع أو البحوث أو غيرها مما يرى المعلم مناسبته ويعكس مدى إلمام الطالب بالمعرفة والمهارة المستهدفة في الجانب العملي والمواد الدراسية التي يتم تقويمها تقويماً ختامياً يخصص لها اختبار تحريري في نهاية الفترة الدراسية.

The Ministry of Education confirmed that the subjects in public education schools where students are assessed with a final evaluation are Mathematics and Arabic Language in the first and second grades of elementary school and the first grade of continuous education, as well as Mathematics, Arabic Language, English Language, and Science in the remaining grades, while the assessment is formative for all other subjects.
The ministry indicated in the guide for distributing grades for the current academic year that formative assessment is continuously implemented after each study unit in all subjects, aiming to support the student's academic achievement until the end of the study period. Short written tests of 20 points are conducted at least twice during the study period in all subjects, and short written tests can be replaced with practical applications of 20 points in some subjects of a practical nature, such as Physical Education, Arts, and others. The grades from the assessments are recorded in the electronic system twice during the study period. It also pointed out the application of the conditional percentage of 20% of the written test grade in subjects that are assessed with a final evaluation "at the end of the academic year in the elementary and intermediate stages," and at the end of each study period "in the secondary stage." If a student fails in a subject and enters the second round, a portion of the grades achieved during the study period, amounting to 40 points, is retained, and the second round is tested out of 60 points.
It clarified that subjects that include practical applications or oral assessments have continuous and periodic evaluations of the student throughout the study period, so that the total score achieved by the student is recorded at the end of the study period. If it is not possible to assess the student in the practical aspect for any reason, whether due to a lack of tools or equipment (laboratory facilities), the student is assessed through projects, research, or other methods deemed appropriate by the teacher, reflecting the student's grasp of the knowledge and skills targeted in the practical aspect.
