تسلَّمت القوات البحرية الملكية السعودية، اليوم، قيادة قوة الواجب المختلطة (CTF-150) من نظيرتها النيوزلندية، وذلك خلال حفل رسمي في مقر قاعدة الدعم البحري الأمريكية (NSA) بمملكة البحرين.
وأُقيمت مراسم التسليم والاستلام، بحضور رئيس أركان القوات البحرية الملكية السعودية الفريق الركن محمد بن عبدالرحمن الغريبي، وقائد القيادة المركزية للقوات البحرية الأمريكية الفريق جورج ويكف، وسفير خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى مملكة البحرين نايف بن بندر السديري، وعدد من كبار المسؤولين والسفراء والملحقين العسكريين وأعضاء البعثات الدبلوماسية في المنامة.
وتسلَّم العميد البحري الركن فهد بن صنيدح الجعيد من القوات البحرية الملكية السعودية قيادة القوة من الجانب النيوزلندي، وألقى كلمة أكد فيها جاهزية القوات البحرية التامة لأداء المهمات المناطة بها، مشيراً إلى أن المملكة تتشرف بقيادة هذه القوة للمرة الرابعة.
وسبق للقوات البحرية الملكية السعودية أن تسلّمت مهمات قوة الواجب المختلطة (CTF-150) من القوات البحرية الملكية البريطانية عام 2018م، ومن الفرنسية عام 2020م، ومن الباكستانية عام 2022م.
وتتولى قوة الواجب المختلطة (CTF-150) مهمة تعزيز الأمن البحري في مناطق عملياتها التي تشمل خليج عمان وبحر العرب وخليج عدن والمحيط الهندي، من خلال مكافحة الإرهاب والأنشطة غير المشروعة، كتهريب البشر والمخدرات والأسلحة، إضافة إلى حماية خطوط الملاحة وضمان تدفق التجارة العالمية بأمن وسلامة.
The Royal Saudi Navy received today the command of the Combined Task Force (CTF-150) from its New Zealand counterpart during an official ceremony at the U.S. Naval Support Activity (NSA) base in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The handover ceremony was attended by the Chief of Naval Staff of the Royal Saudi Navy, Lieutenant General Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Ghreebi, the Commander of the U.S. Central Naval Command, Admiral George W. Weekes, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Naif bin Bandar Al-Sudairi, along with several senior officials, ambassadors, military attachés, and members of diplomatic missions in Manama.
Brigadier General Fahd bin Sunaidah Al-Juaid of the Royal Saudi Navy received the command of the force from the New Zealand side and delivered a speech in which he affirmed the full readiness of the naval forces to carry out their assigned missions, noting that the Kingdom is honored to lead this force for the fourth time.
The Royal Saudi Navy had previously taken over the duties of the Combined Task Force (CTF-150) from the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom in 2018, from the French Navy in 2020, and from the Pakistani Navy in 2022.
The Combined Task Force (CTF-150) is responsible for enhancing maritime security in its areas of operations, which include the Gulf of Oman, the Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Indian Ocean, through combating terrorism and illegal activities such as human trafficking, drug smuggling, and arms trafficking, in addition to protecting shipping lanes and ensuring the safe and secure flow of global trade.
