نجح الفريق الطبي والجراحي المختص التابع للبرنامج السعودي للتوائم الملتصقة اليوم في تحقيق إنجاز طبي جديد بفصل التوأم الملتصق السوري «سيلين وإيلين»، البالغتين من العمر سنة و(5) أشهر، في عملية جراحية معقدة استغرقت (8) ساعات متواصلة، وأجريت في مستشفى الملك عبدالله التخصصي للأطفال بمدينة الملك عبدالعزيز الطبية التابعة لوزارة الحرس الوطني بمدينة الرياض.
وأوضح المشرف العام على مركز الملك سلمان للإغاثة والأعمال الإنسانية رئيس الفريق الدكتور عبدالله الربيعة أن العملية تمّت بمشاركة فريق طبي متكامل يضم (24) من الأطباء الاستشاريين والمختصين، إلى جانب الكوادر التمريضية والفنية في تخصصات التخدير، وجراحة الأطفال، وجراحة التجميل، وغيرها من التخصصات المساندة، وذلك لضمان أعلى درجات الدقة والسلامة خلال جميع مراحل الجراحة.
وأبان الربيعة أن العملية تُعد الرابعة لفصل توائم ملتصقة من سورية، ورقم (66) ضمن سلسلة عمليات البرنامج السعودي للتوائم الملتصقة، الذي يمتد تاريخه لأكثر من (35) عاماً، وغطى (27) دولة، ودرس (150) حالة من مختلف أنحاء العالم، ما يؤكد الدور الريادي الذي تؤديه المملكة في هذا التخصص الطبي النادر، بدعم ورعاية خادم الحرمين الشريفين، وولي العهد.
كما عبّر الربيعة باسمه ونيابة عن أعضاء الفريق الطبي والجراحي عن بالغ الشكر والعرفان للقيادة على الدعم غير المحدود الذي يحظى به البرنامج، كما تقدم بالشكر لأعضاء الفريق الطبي والجراحي على جهودهم ومثابرتهم التي كان لها الأثر الطيب في هذا المنجز الطبي الذي يسجّل لأبناء الوطن، مؤكداً أن ما تحقق من إنجاز طبي وإنساني يُعد ثمرة لتكامل الجهود الوطنية، ودلالة على كفاءة الكوادر السعودية، وتجسيداً لرسالة المملكة السامية في خدمة الإنسان، وتعزيزاً لموقعها مركزاً دولياً وبيت خبرة في هذا التخصص.
من جانبه، رفع القائم بأعمال سفارة الجمهورية العربية السورية لدى المملكة المستشار حسين عبدالعزيز الشكر لحكومة خادم الحرمين الشريفين، ومركز الملك سلمان للإغاثة، وأعضاء الفريق الطبي، مبيناً أن هذا الإنجاز يجسد المدى المتطور الذي وصل له القطاع الطبي السعودي، ويدلل على متانة العلاقات الأخوية التي تجمع ما بين المملكة وسورية.
من جانبهم، قدم ذوو التوأم شكرهم العميق وامتنانهم لخادم الحرمين الشريفين، وولي العهد لما قدّماه من رعاية طبية متقدمة لطفلتيهم، معربين عن تقديرهم الكبير لجهود الفريق الطبي السعودي، التي أسهمت في نجاح العملية وضمان سلامة التوأم.
The specialized medical and surgical team affiliated with the Saudi program for conjoined twins succeeded today in achieving a new medical milestone by separating the Syrian conjoined twins "Selin and Elin," who are one year and (5) months old, in a complex surgical operation that lasted (8) continuous hours, conducted at King Abdullah Specialist Children's Hospital in King Abdulaziz Medical City, which is part of the Ministry of National Guard in Riyadh.
The General Supervisor of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, explained that the operation was carried out with the participation of a complete medical team consisting of (24) consulting and specialized doctors, in addition to nursing and technical staff in the fields of anesthesia, pediatric surgery, plastic surgery, and other supporting specialties, to ensure the highest levels of accuracy and safety during all stages of the surgery.
Al-Rabeeah indicated that this operation is the fourth for separating conjoined twins from Syria, and number (66) in the series of operations of the Saudi program for conjoined twins, which has a history of more than (35) years, covering (27) countries, and studying (150) cases from around the world, which confirms the pioneering role that the Kingdom plays in this rare medical specialty, supported and sponsored by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince.
He also expressed, on his behalf and on behalf of the members of the medical and surgical team, deep gratitude and appreciation to the leadership for the unlimited support that the program receives, and he thanked the members of the medical and surgical team for their efforts and perseverance, which had a positive impact on this medical achievement that is recorded for the sons of the nation, confirming that the medical and humanitarian achievement realized is a fruit of the integration of national efforts, a testament to the efficiency of Saudi cadres, and a manifestation of the Kingdom's noble message in serving humanity, enhancing its position as an international center and a house of expertise in this specialty.
For his part, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Syrian Arab Republic Embassy in the Kingdom, Counselor Hussein Abdulaziz, expressed his gratitude to the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the King Salman Relief Center, and the members of the medical team, indicating that this achievement embodies the advanced level reached by the Saudi medical sector and demonstrates the strength of the brotherly relations that bind the Kingdom and Syria.
For their part, the family of the twins expressed their deep thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for the advanced medical care provided to their daughters, expressing their great appreciation for the efforts of the Saudi medical team, which contributed to the success of the operation and ensured the safety of the twins.
