لم يعد الموت في غزة يقتصر فقط على رصاص وقنابل وصواريخ قوات الاحتلال، التي تمارس حرب تقتيل وإبادة جماعية منذ نحو العامين. وبات الغزاويون ينازعون الحياة من شدة الجوع ونقص المساعدات الغذائية التي منعت إسرائيل دخولها منذ مطلع مارس الماضي، ليس هذا فحسب، بل باتت تتحكم في طريقة وآلية توزيع الكميات القليلة جداً التي تدخل القطاع المنكوب؛ بهدف اصطياد الضحايا من منتظري المساعدات.
وأمام هذا المشهد المأساوي في كل تفاصيله، يبقى السؤال عن متى تُعلن المجاعة في غزة؟
وربما ما يلفت النظر هو أنه رغم إعلان العديد من المنظمات الحقوقية والإنسانية، أن المجاعة تفتك بغزة وأهلها، ورغم الإعلان شبه اليومي عن احتضار العشرات يومياً تحت وطأة الحصار ونقص المواد الغذائية، فإن الأمم المتحدة لا تزال تلتزم «الصمت المطبق» حيال هذه الكارثة الإنسانية.
وإذا كانت لغة الأرقام لا تكذب، فإن هناك حالة انعدام غذائي لنحو 20% من الأسر الفلسطينية، فيما يصيب سوء التغذية الحاد أكثر من 30% من الأطفال دون سن الخامسة، وسط ارتفاع المعدل بسبب الجوع. ولكل هذه الأسباب، فإنه ينبغي الإعلان عن أن غزة باتت منطقة مجاعة، على غرار ما حدث في الصومال 2011، وجنوب السودان في العام 2017.
فهل تفعلها المنظمة الدولية وتوجه لطمة قوية لإسرائيل باعتبارها سلطة الاحتلال المسؤولة عن هذه الكارثة الإنسانية؟

Gazans are now struggling for life due to extreme hunger and a lack of food aid that Israel has prevented from entering since the beginning of March. Not only that, but it has also begun to control the way and mechanism of distributing the very small quantities that do enter the besieged territory, aiming to ensnare victims among those waiting for aid.
In light of this tragic scene in all its details, the question remains: when will famine be declared in Gaza?
What is perhaps striking is that despite many human rights and humanitarian organizations announcing that famine is ravaging Gaza and its people, and despite the almost daily reports of dozens dying under the weight of the siege and lack of food supplies, the United Nations continues to maintain a "complete silence" regarding this humanitarian disaster.
If the language of numbers does not lie, then there is a state of food insecurity affecting about 20% of Palestinian families, while acute malnutrition affects more than 30% of children under the age of five, with the rate rising due to hunger. For all these reasons, it should be declared that Gaza has become a famine-stricken area, similar to what happened in Somalia in 2011 and South Sudan in 2017.
