صدر عن الديوان الملكي اليوم البيان التالي: انتقل إلى رحمة الله تعالى صاحب السمو الملكي الأمير/ الوليد بن خالد بن طلال بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود، وسيصلى عليه - إن شاء الله - يوم غدٍ الأحد الموافق 25 / 1 / 1447هـ، بعد صلاة العصر في جامع الإمام تركي بن عبدالله في مدينة الرياض. تغمده الله بواسع رحمته ومغفرته ورضوانه وأسكنه فسيح جناته، إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون.
الأمير خالد ينعى نجله
وكان الأمير الوليد بن خالد توفي بعد أن أمضى أكثر من 20 عاماً في غيبوبة تامة، إثر حادث سير مأساوي.
ونعي الأمير خالد نجله عبر حسابه الرسمي على منصة «X» وقال: «بقلوب مؤمنة بقضاء الله وقدره وببالغ الحزن والأسى ننعى ابننا الغالي الأمير الوليد بن خالد بن طلال بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود -رحمه الله- الذي انتقل إلى رحمة الله تعالى اليوم».
وكان الأمير الوليد قد تعرض لحادث مروري قبل نحو عشرين عاماً، أسفر عن دخوله في غيبوبة طويلة ظل خلالها تحت الرعاية الطبية المكثفة، وسط اهتمام والده الأمير خالد الذي ظل ملازماً له طيلة السنوات الماضية.
وارتبط لقب «الأمير النائم» بالأمير الوليد بن خالد، وتحولت قصته إلى حالة إنسانية ملهمة في المجتمع السعودي، أثارت مشاعر المتابعين الذين تابعوا تفاصيل معاناته وأمله في استعادة وعيه، إلى أن وافته المنية اليوم.

The following statement was issued by the Royal Court today: His Royal Highness Prince/ Alwaleed bin Khalid bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has passed away to the mercy of Allah. The funeral prayer will be held, God willing, tomorrow, Sunday, corresponding to 25/1/1447 AH, after the Asr prayer at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh. May Allah grant him His vast mercy, forgiveness, and pleasure, and may He place him in His spacious gardens. Indeed, we belong to Allah and indeed to Him we shall return.
Prince Khalid mourns his son
Prince Alwaleed bin Khalid passed away after spending more than 20 years in a complete coma due to a tragic car accident.
Prince Khalid mourned his son through his official account on the "X" platform, saying: "With hearts believing in Allah's decree and destiny, and with deep sadness and sorrow, we mourn our dear son, Prince Alwaleed bin Khalid bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may Allah have mercy on him - who passed away to the mercy of Allah today."
Prince Alwaleed had suffered a traffic accident about twenty years ago, which resulted in him entering a long coma during which he remained under intensive medical care, with the constant attention of his father, Prince Khalid, who stayed by his side throughout the past years.
The title "the sleeping prince" became associated with Prince Alwaleed bin Khalid, and his story turned into an inspiring humanitarian case in Saudi society, stirring the emotions of followers who followed the details of his suffering and hope for regaining consciousness until he passed away today.
