تستضيف المملكة أعمال الدورة الخامسة من مؤتمر وزراء منظمة التعاون الإسلامي المسؤولين عن المياه، على مدى ثلاثة أيام في الفترة من 20 إلى 22 أكتوبر 2025م، في مدينة جدة؛ لمناقشة التحديات المتعلقة بالمياه والحلول المقترحة لتلبية الاحتياجات المائية للدول الأعضاء.
ووقَّعت المملكة ملف استضافة المؤتمر مع الأمانة العامة لمنظمة التعاون الإسلامي، أمس، بحضور وكيل وزارة البيئة والمياه والزراعة للمياه الدكتور عبدالعزيز الشيباني، ورئيس إدارة المؤتمرات بمنظمة التعاون الإسلامي السيد منصور سي ديوب، ومدير عام إدارة العلوم والتكنولوجيا بمنظمة التعاون الإسلامي السيد عبدالنور سكندي.
وتمت خلال اللقاء مناقشة متطلبات إقامة المؤتمر والترتيبات التنظيمية والفنية.
وأوضح الشيباني أن استضافة المملكة لهذه الدورة تأتي تأكيداً لدور المملكة المحوري في دعم قضايا المياه في العالم الإسلامي، وتعزيزاً لجهود التعاون المشترك في مجالات التنمية المستدامة، مؤكداً أن انعقاد المؤتمر في المملكة يجسد التزامها الدائم بدعم المبادرات على مستوى دول المنظمة، ودعم رؤيتها وخطتها التنفيذية حول المياه، وسعيها لتعزيز التعاون في قضايا المياه دولياً.
يشار إلى أن وزارة البيئة والمياه والزراعة، باشرت أعمال التحضير والتنظيم للمؤتمر بالتنسيق مع منظمة التعاون الإسلامي، وتم إعداد المتطلبات التنظيمية والفنية اللازمة، وجدولة الاجتماعات التنسيقية، وتحديث المستجدات الفنية في مجالات المياه على الساحة الدولية؛ لضمان جاهزية المملكة الكاملة لاستضافة الدورة الخامسة من المؤتمر، والإسهام في إيجاد حلول فاعلة للتحديات التي تواجه قطاع المياه على المستويين الإقليمي والدولي.

The Kingdom will host the fifth session of the Conference of Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation responsible for water, over three days from October 20 to 22, 2025, in the city of Jeddah; to discuss the challenges related to water and the proposed solutions to meet the water needs of the member states.
The Kingdom signed the hosting file for the conference with the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation yesterday, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture for Water, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Shaibani, the Head of the Conference Management at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Mr. Mansour Sy Diop, and the Director General of the Science and Technology Department at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Mr. Abdenour Sekendi.
During the meeting, the requirements for holding the conference and the organizational and technical arrangements were discussed.
Al-Shaibani clarified that the Kingdom's hosting of this session confirms its pivotal role in supporting water issues in the Islamic world and enhances efforts for joint cooperation in the fields of sustainable development, emphasizing that holding the conference in the Kingdom embodies its ongoing commitment to support initiatives at the level of the member states and to support its vision and executive plan regarding water, as well as its efforts to enhance international cooperation on water issues.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture has begun preparations and organization for the conference in coordination with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the necessary organizational and technical requirements have been prepared, along with scheduling coordination meetings and updating technical developments in the field of water on the international stage; to ensure the Kingdom's full readiness to host the fifth session of the conference and contribute to finding effective solutions to the challenges facing the water sector at both the regional and international levels.
