«الشورى» يناقش تقارير السياحة والمركز الوطني للصحة النفسية

The Shura Council discussed reports from the National Center for Mental Health Promotion, the Family Affairs Council, the Saudi Tourism Authority, and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. In its thirty-eighth regular session of the first year of the ninth term, chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the Council, Dr. Mishal Fahm Al-Sulami, the Council issued a report regarding the annual report of the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts. It called on the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts to establish quality standards for evaluating and adopting the projects submitted to it, and to expand professional programs that focus on branches of traditional heritage according to the best global practices.

The Council requested the Saudi Water Authority to review the procedures for awarding the National Water Company contracts for the drainage and transportation of sewage, and to work on opening the field for competition among contractors, in accordance with the Competition Protection System and to prevent monopolistic practices that negatively affect consumers. It issued a decision regarding the annual report of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, calling on the ministry to review the design standards for housing units related to housing and development support programs.

Council member Princess Dr. Jawhara Al Saud urged the Family Affairs Council to conduct a comprehensive study to review the relevant systems and regulations, with the aim of finding legal provisions that consider the principle of balance between work and family life. Meanwhile, council member Engineer Abdulaziz Al-Maliki called on the Family Affairs Council to focus on studying the demographic composition of the Saudi family, due to its importance in decision-making, in cooperation with relevant authorities.

Council member Dr. Amal Al-Sheikh emphasized the necessity of establishing an expanded national plan for integrated transportation, increasing railway lines, and integrating railways with ports, airports, and highways to enhance the experience of tourists.

Council member Dr. Abdullah Al-Najjar called on the National Center for Mental Health Promotion, in coordination with relevant authorities, to initiate the establishment of the necessary regulatory systems and controls for all psychological consulting applications operating in the Kingdom, and to undertake supervisory, licensing, and oversight tasks to ensure the quality of services provided and the safety of beneficiaries.
