نيابةً عن وزير الخارجية الأمير فيصل بن فرحان بن عبدالله، شارك نائبه المهندس وليد عبدالكريم الخريجي في حفل الاستقبال بمناسبة الذكرى السنوية ليوم أفريقيا، الذي أقيم بقصر الثقافة في حي السفارات بالرياض.
واستقبله لدى وصوله إلى قصر الثقافة، عميد السلك الدبلوماسي سفير جمهورية جيبوتي لدى المملكة ضياء الدين بامخرمة، وسفير الكاميرون ورئيس المجموعة الأفريقية آيا تيجاني.
وأكّد الخريجي في كلمته: أن أفريقيا اليوم تُعدُّ قارة الفرص الواعدة بثرواتها الطبيعية، وشبابها الطموح، وإمكاناتها المتجددة، ورغم تحديات النزاعات والتغير المناخي تبقى روح التعاون الأفريقي وتطلعات شعوب القارة للسلام والعدالة والتنمية أقوى من أي تحدٍّ.
وأشار إلى أن الدول الأفريقية تحتل مكانةً مهمة في خريطة السياسة الخارجية للمملكة وشبكة علاقاتها الدبلوماسية، وقال: «تضم أفريقيا أكبر عدد من بعثات المملكة الدبلوماسية والقنصلية، وسترفع المملكة عدد سفاراتها في أفريقيا إلى أكثر من 40 سفارة خلال السنوات المقبلة».
وأكد نائب وزير الخارجية حرص المملكة على تطوير علاقات التعاون والشراكة مع الدول الأفريقية، وتنمية مجالات التجارة والتكامل، وتعزيز التشاور والتنسيق والدعم المتبادل في المنظمات الدولية تجاه القضايا ذات الاهتمام المشترك.
وأوضح الخريجي، أن المملكة قدمت أكثر من 45 مليار دولار لدعم المشاريع التنموية والإنسانية في 54 دولة أفريقية، مشيراً إلى أن مساعدات مركز الملك سلمان للإغاثة والأعمال الإنسانية بلغت أكثر من 450 مليون دولار في 46 دولة أفريقية.
وعبر معاليه عن تطلع المملكة إلى استثمار 25 مليار دولار في أفريقيا، وتمويل وتأمين 10 مليارات دولار من الصادرات، وتقديم 5 مليارات دولار تمويلات تنموية إضافية لأفريقيا حتى عام 2030م.
On behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, his deputy, Engineer Walid Abdul Karim Al-Khuraiji, participated in the reception ceremony on the occasion of the anniversary of Africa Day, which was held at the Cultural Palace in the Diplomatic Quarter of Riyadh.
Upon his arrival at the Cultural Palace, he was welcomed by the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, the Ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti to the Kingdom, Diaa Al-Din Bamakhrama, and the Ambassador of Cameroon and President of the African Group, Aya Tijani.
Al-Khuraiji emphasized in his speech that Africa today is considered a continent of promising opportunities with its natural resources, ambitious youth, and renewable potentials. Despite the challenges of conflicts and climate change, the spirit of African cooperation and the aspirations of the peoples of the continent for peace, justice, and development remain stronger than any challenge.
He pointed out that African countries hold an important position in the Kingdom's foreign policy map and its network of diplomatic relations, stating: "Africa has the largest number of the Kingdom's diplomatic and consular missions, and the Kingdom will increase the number of its embassies in Africa to more than 40 embassies in the coming years."
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Kingdom's keenness to develop cooperative and partnership relations with African countries, enhance trade and integration, and strengthen consultation, coordination, and mutual support in international organizations regarding issues of common interest.
Al-Khuraiji explained that the Kingdom has provided more than 45 billion dollars to support developmental and humanitarian projects in 54 African countries, noting that the aid from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has exceeded 450 million dollars in 46 African countries.
His Excellency expressed the Kingdom's aspiration to invest 25 billion dollars in Africa, finance and secure 10 billion dollars from exports, and provide an additional 5 billion dollars in developmental financing for Africa by the year 2030.
