تبدأ الهيئة العامة للعناية بشؤون المسجد الحرام والمسجد النبوي أعمال مراسم تغيير كسوة الكعبة المشرفة جرياً على العادة السنوية، إذ تتزين في مطلع العام 1447 الهجري بحلتها الجديدة.
وتأتي عملية تغيير كسوة الكعبة المشرفة بعد اكتمال مراحل تصنيعها داخل مجمع الملك عبدالعزيز لكسوة الكعبة المشرفة بأم الجود، واستغرق إنتاج الكسوة 11 شهراً تقريباً، وتمر بسبع مراحل دقيقة تشمل تحلية المياه، والغسيل، والنسيج، والطباعة، والتطريز، والتجميع، ثم الفحص النهائي، من خلال إعداد مياه خاصة بمعايير دقيقة للغسيل، وغسل وصباغة الحرير الخام باللون الأسود المميز، ونسج الأقمشة المنقوشة والسادة لثوب الكعبة وبطانته وطباعة الآيات القرآنية بدقة هندسية على القماش، وجمع الأجزاء وخياطتها مع تثبيت المذهبات وتطريز الآيات بخيوط من الفضة والذهب والجودة، من خلال فحص دقيق؛ لضمان أعلى المعايير قبل التثبيت. وتجسد هذه المراحل الجهود الكبيرة والمهارات الرفيعة في إنتاج هذه الكسوة الفريدة. وتجري عملية نقل كسوة الكعبة المشرفة من مجمع الملك عبدالعزيز لصناعة كسوة الكعبة المشرفة في مقطورة مخصصة، وصولاً إلى المسجد الحرام، فيما تتم عملية فك المذهبات من الكسوة القديمة بعد صلاة العصر يوم الأربعاء 29 / 12 / 1446 هـ، وموعد بدء مراسم التغيير الرسمية داخل المسجد الحرام مطلع بداية يوم الخميس الأول من شهر محرم للعام 1447هـ. وتتكون الكسوة الجديدة من 47 قطعة من الحرير الأسود المنقوش، مطرزة بـ 68 آية قرآنية بخيوط الفضة المطلية بالذهب عيار 24، ويبلغ وزن كسوة الكعبة الإجمالي نحو 1,415 كيلوغراماً. وتجسد كسوة الكعبة المشرفة في كل عام عناية المملكة الفائقة بالحرمين الشريفين، وحرصها على تجديد كسوة الكعبة المشرفة بما يليق بمكانتها وقدسيتها في قلوب المسلمين حول العالم.

The General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques begins the ceremonies for changing the cover of the Holy Kaaba, following the annual tradition, as it adorns itself at the beginning of the year 1447 AH with its new attire.
The process of changing the cover of the Holy Kaaba comes after the completion of its manufacturing stages inside the King Abdulaziz Complex for the Cover of the Holy Kaaba in Umm al-Jud. The production of the cover took approximately 11 months and goes through seven precise stages, including water purification, washing, weaving, printing, embroidery, assembly, and finally inspection. This involves preparing special water with precise standards for washing, washing and dyeing the raw silk in the distinctive black color, weaving the patterned and plain fabrics for the Kaaba's garment and its lining, and printing the Quranic verses with geometric precision on the fabric. The parts are then assembled and sewn together, with the gold embellishments secured and the verses embroidered with silver and gold threads of high quality, through meticulous inspection to ensure the highest standards before installation. These stages reflect the great efforts and high skills involved in producing this unique cover. The transportation of the cover of the Holy Kaaba from the King Abdulaziz Complex for the Cover of the Holy Kaaba takes place in a dedicated trailer, arriving at the Grand Mosque, while the removal of the gold embellishments from the old cover occurs after the Asr prayer on Wednesday, 29/12/1446 AH, and the official ceremony for the change inside the Grand Mosque begins at the start of Thursday, the first day of Muharram in the year 1447 AH. The new cover consists of 47 pieces of patterned black silk, embroidered with 68 Quranic verses using silver threads coated with 24-carat gold, and the total weight of the Kaaba's cover is approximately 1,415 kilograms. Each year, the cover of the Holy Kaaba embodies the Kingdom's exceptional care for the Two Holy Mosques and its commitment to renewing the cover of the Holy Kaaba in a manner befitting its status and sanctity in the hearts of Muslims around the world.
