The Henry Jackson Institute, located in the British capital "London," hosted a dialogue with the Secretary-General and President of the Muslim Scholars Association, Sheikh Mohammed Abdulkarim Al-Issa.
During the extensive meeting, it was emphasized that the message of Islam calls for dialogue and underscores the centrality of understanding and coexistence to achieve peace and harmony among nations and peoples, specifically "among the various components in all countries of diversity."
Sheikh Al-Issa highlighted the British Islamic component, its respect for the laws, its support for community cohesion, and its positive, active, and tangible participation in his country, the "United Kingdom," as evidenced by the documented reports with the Muslim World League, as well as those we met with among senior officials in the United Kingdom.
He clarified that the British Islamic component is considered among the four most populous (in Europe) and is the first - recently - in Western countries with a Muslim minority, according to the "number" and "level" of participation in the higher state institutions.
The dialogue touched on the importance of the role of the "aware" family, "effective" education, and "responsible" media in enhancing awareness, fortifying thought, and combating negative, erroneous, and extremist concepts.
Sheikh Al-Issa praised the contents of King Charles's two lectures on: "Islam and the West," and "Islam and the Environment," noting that King Charles hosted him at Buckingham Palace in a bilateral meeting, conveying the greetings and appreciation of scholars and thinkers of the Islamic world, who are under the umbrella of the Muslim World League, for King Charles's comprehensive discussion on these two topics and his neutral and sincere feelings towards Islam. This came amid the unjust and fierce campaigns by the intellectual extremism that hates Islam, in a context of increasing Islamophobia.
Sheikh Al-Issa stated that Islam is represented by its moderation, which he speaks about through its major official institutions; the Muslim World League speaks on behalf of Islamic peoples and has issued the most important contemporary Islamic document, the "Makkah Document," which was signed by more than 1,200 scholars and jurists. The attendees were briefed on a summary of its provisions, and it was directed to distribute copies of it, which British Muslims considered at their conference held in London in March 2023, akin to an inspiring and guiding religious constitutional document for them, as it expresses the consensus of the scholars of the Ummah under the Muslim World League and is issued from the sacred precincts of Makkah near the Holy Kaaba.
Sheikh Al-Issa added: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation also speaks about Islam from the perspective of the Islamic world. At the end of the meeting, he answered several questions related to the League's missions around the world.
