The Governor of the Public Authority for Food Security, Engineer Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Faris, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to the Crown Prince, Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on the occasion of the Cabinet's approval of the organization of the Public Authority for Food Security.

He pointed out that this generous approval comes in the context of the leadership's commitment to supporting the food security system in the Kingdom, enabling it, and ensuring its sustainability in line with the objectives of Vision 2030. He explained that the organization will empower the authority to fulfill its role in leading food security efforts to develop flexible and sustainable food systems, ensuring the protection of the state's vital interests and national security, as well as organizing, enhancing, and developing food security, in addition to strengthening the national economy by increasing the level of private sector participation and raising the volume of its contributions to the gross domestic product.

He stated that the authority will work under the organization to supervise the national food security strategy, design and manage an early warning system to address food security-related risks, establish strategic storage policies and monitor targeted commodities in strategic storage, ensure compliance with relevant systems and regulations, support research and studies in the fields of food security, build national capacities, and develop plans to measure levels of food loss and waste.
