وجهت وزارة البلديات والإسكان بإيقاف العمل باللائحة الجديدة الخاصة بالمباني السكنية، واعتبرتها لائحة غير سارية، مؤكدة العمل بالسابقة.وأوضح أمين الطائف المهندس عبدالله الزايدي لـ«عكاظ»، أن الطائف بدأت بالعمل طبقاً لتعميم الوزارة، بعدما كان تطبيق اللائحة الجديدة للمباني استمر لمدة ٤ أشهر تقريباً ومن ثم تم إلغاؤها.يشار إلى أن تعميم الوزارة أشار إلى أن القرار الصادر في 08/01/1446، بشأن تطبيق لائحة اشتراطات المباني السكنية الجديدة، جاء انطلاقاً من أهمية تطبيق تلك الاشتراطات بما يتوافق مع المخططات المحلية والإقليمية، واعتماد أنظمة وضوابط البناء المنبثقة عنها، وعلى جميع المكاتب الهندسية والاستشارية العاملة ضرورة الاستمرار في العمل وفق الأنظمة واللوائح الخاصة بالمباني السكنية، وأن اللائحة الجديدة غير سارية.وطلبت الوزارة، إحاطة المستفيدين والعملاء بأن العمل ما زال جارياً وفق اللوائح السابقة دون تعديل.

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has directed to halt the implementation of the new regulations concerning residential buildings, considering it an invalid regulation, and confirmed the continuation of the previous one. The Secretary of Taif, Engineer Abdullah Al-Zaydi, stated to "Okaz" that Taif has begun to operate according to the ministry's circular, after the application of the new building regulations lasted for approximately 4 months before being canceled. It is worth noting that the ministry's circular indicated that the decision issued on 08/01/1446, regarding the application of the new residential building regulations, came from the importance of applying those regulations in accordance with local and regional plans, and adopting the building systems and controls derived from them. It is imperative for all engineering and consulting offices to continue working according to the regulations and laws pertaining to residential buildings, and that the new regulation is not in effect. The ministry requested to inform beneficiaries and clients that work is still ongoing according to the previous regulations without modification.
