دشن وزير النقل والخدمات اللوجستية رئيس مجلس إدارة الهيئة العامة للطرق المهندس صالح الجاسر عدداً من المبادرات المبتكرة لموسم حج هذا العام 1446هـ؛ بهدف تعزيز راحة ضيوف الرحمن في المشاعر المقدسة.
وشمل التدشين التوسع في مبادرتي الطرق المطاطية المرنة وتبريد الطرق، إضافةً إلى مبادرتين جديدتين هما تشجير وتحسين البيئة في الطرق المطاطية المرنة ومسار خدمة الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة.
وأوضحت هيئة الطرق أن مبادرة تبريد الطرق شهدت توسعاً بنسبة 82% هذا العام، بعد نجاحها منذ انطلاقتها في عام 2023، إذ تم رصف أكثر من 84 ألف م2 من الطرق في مشعر عرفات، ويعتمد هذا الابتكار على مواد محلية الصنع تقلل امتصاص الأشعة الشمسية، مما يخفض درجة الحرارة السطحية لنحو 12 درجة مئوية، ويزيد من عكس الأشعة بنسبة 30 إلى 40% خلال الصباح، مساهمةً في تقليل ظاهرة «الجزيرة الحرارية» وتوفير بيئة مريحة للحجاج مع تقليل استهلاك الطاقة وتلوث الهواء.
وشمل التدشين التوسع في مبادرة الطرق المطاطية المرنة بنسبة 33%، والتي تعالج صلابة الأسطح الأسفلتية في ممرات المشاة، خصوصا لكبار السن. وشملت أعمال الرصف الطريق الممتد من مسجد نمرة إلى محطة قطار المشاعر في عرفات ليصل إجمالي استخدامها إلى 16 ألف م2، باستخدام أسفلت مطاطي مرن يعزز الراحة أثناء السير، وقد أثبتت تجارب مركز أبحاث الطرق نجاحه في توفير تجربة آمنة.
واشتملت المبادرات الجديدة على تشجير وتحسين البيئة في المسار المرن، إذ تمت زراعة أشجار على طول 1200 متر من الطريق الممتد بين مسجد نمرة ومحطة القطار في عرفات، مع تطبيق تقنية رذاذ لتلطيف الهواء وإنشاء مشارب مياه، لتحسين جودة الهواء وتوفير بيئة مريحة للحجاج أثناء أداء مناسكهم، وذلك بالتعاون مع مؤسسة عبدالرحمن فقيه الأهلية.

كذلك، دُشنت مبادرة خدمات الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة، التي تضمنت تخصيص مسار بطول 4000 متر في طريق المشاة المؤدي إلى جبل الرحمة بمشعر عرفات، مرصوفاً بمواد باردة لتخفيف الاهتزاز ودعم المرافقين، وذلك تماشياً مع رؤية المملكة 2030 لتعزيز الشمولية وتحسين جودة الحياة.
وتعمل الهيئة العامة للطرق على تطوير الأبحاث والتجارب العملية انطلاقاً من دورها كجهاز حكومي مشرف ومنظم لقطاع الطرق في المملكة، وتماشياً مع رؤية إستراتيجية القطاع التي نصت على التشجيع على الابتكار، كما تسهم إستراتيجية قطاع الطرق في رفع مستوى جودة الطرق للوصول للمؤشر السادس عالمياً، وخفض الوفيات لأقل من 5 حالات لكل 100 ألف نسمة بحلول 2030، ليواصل قطاع الطرق دوره الريادي في تمكين العديد من القطاعات الحيوية والواعدة وذلك عبر شبكة طرق المملكة التي تعد الأولى على مستوى العالم في ترابطها بأكثر من 73 ألف كيلومتر.
The Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Roads, Engineer Saleh Al-Jasser, launched a number of innovative initiatives for this year's Hajj season 1446 AH, aimed at enhancing the comfort of the guests of Allah in the holy sites.
The launch included the expansion of the flexible rubber roads initiative and road cooling, in addition to two new initiatives: afforestation and environmental improvement on the flexible rubber roads and the service path for people with disabilities.
The Roads Authority indicated that the road cooling initiative has expanded by 82% this year, following its success since its inception in 2023, with more than 84,000 square meters of roads paved in the Arafat area. This innovation relies on locally made materials that reduce solar radiation absorption, lowering the surface temperature by about 12 degrees Celsius and increasing the reflection of rays by 30 to 40% in the morning, contributing to the reduction of the "heat island" phenomenon and providing a comfortable environment for pilgrims while reducing energy consumption and air pollution.
The launch also included a 33% expansion of the flexible rubber roads initiative, which addresses the rigidity of asphalt surfaces in pedestrian pathways, especially for the elderly. The paving work included the road extending from the Nimra Mosque to the train station in Arafat, bringing the total area used to 16,000 square meters, using flexible rubber asphalt that enhances comfort while walking. Research center experiments have proven its success in providing a safe experience.
The new initiatives included afforestation and environmental improvement along the flexible path, with trees planted along 1,200 meters of the road extending between the Nimra Mosque and the train station in Arafat, applying misting technology to cool the air and creating water troughs to improve air quality and provide a comfortable environment for pilgrims during their rituals, in collaboration with the Abdul Rahman Fakieh Charitable Foundation.

Additionally, the initiative for services for people with disabilities was launched, which included the allocation of a 4,000-meter path in the pedestrian road leading to Mount Mercy in the Arafat area, paved with cool materials to reduce vibrations and support companions, in line with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 to enhance inclusivity and improve quality of life.
The Public Authority for Roads is working on developing research and practical experiments, stemming from its role as a supervising and organizing governmental body for the road sector in the Kingdom, and in line with the strategic vision of the sector that emphasizes encouraging innovation. The road sector strategy also contributes to raising the quality of roads to reach the sixth global index and reducing fatalities to less than 5 cases per 100,000 people by 2030, allowing the road sector to continue its pioneering role in empowering many vital and promising sectors through the Kingdom's road network, which is the first in the world in connectivity with more than 73,000 kilometers.
