The Infrastructure Projects Center in the Riyadh region has clarified that there are 60 days remaining until the mandatory technical accreditation for contractors executing infrastructure works comes into effect, starting from January 1, 2027. Obtaining technical accreditation from the center will become a fundamental mandatory requirement for engaging in infrastructure project works in the region.
The implementation of technical accreditation is part of the center's efforts to enhance the efficiency of the infrastructure project execution system and to strengthen the readiness of entities operating in the sector, by applying standardized criteria that ensure contractors possess the necessary capabilities and resources to execute works efficiently, in accordance with quality, safety, and sustainability requirements.
The center indicated that technical accreditation is based on a comprehensive evaluation system to measure the efficiency of executing entities and their readiness, by verifying their technical and operational capabilities, financial stability, and professional experience, which contributes to aligning contractors' capabilities with the nature of the projects and their execution requirements, as well as elevating performance levels in the sector.
It pointed out that the evaluation criteria are distributed across three main axes, including technical and operational capabilities at (55%), financial stability at (25%), and professional experience record at (20%), allowing for a comprehensive assessment that reflects the efficiency of entities and their ability to comply with the approved requirements.
The center urged contractors executing infrastructure works to take the initiative to complete the requirements for technical accreditation before the mandatory implementation date, emphasizing that this step contributes to enhancing execution reliability, reducing operational risks, and improving project quality and the sustainability of infrastructure assets, thereby supporting the development of the sector and contributing to improving the quality of life in the Riyadh region.
