دعت المديرية العامة للدفاع المدني إلى توخي الحيطة والحذر أثناء هطول الأمطار، وتجنب الاقتراب من المخاطر المحتملة الناتجة عنها؛ وفي مقدمتها السيول المنقولة والمستنقعات المائية وأماكن تجمع المياه.
وأكدت المديرية أهمية الابتعاد عن مجاري السيول وعدم المجازفة بعبور الأودية خلال فترات هطول الأمطار، لما قد تشكله من أخطار على الأرواح والممتلكات.
كما حذرت من التنزه بالقرب من مجاري السيول والمستنقعات المائية أو السباحة فيها، كونها مواقع غير آمنة وتشكل خطراً كبيراً، مشددة على أهمية دور الأسرة في توعية الأطفال وإبعادهم عن الأماكن الخطرة أثناء الرحلات والنزهات البرية.
ودعت المديرية الجميع إلى متابعة التعليمات والإرشادات الوقائية الصادرة عبر وسائل الإعلام ومنصات التواصل الاجتماعي، والاتصال بالرقم (911) في مناطق الرياض ومكة المكرمة والمدينة المنورة والمنطقة الشرقية، وبالرقم (998) في بقية مناطق المملكة لطلب المساعدة في الحالات الطارئة.
The General Directorate of Civil Defense has called for caution and vigilance during rainfall, and to avoid approaching potential hazards resulting from it; foremost among them are flash floods, stagnant water, and areas where water accumulates.
The directorate emphasized the importance of staying away from flood channels and not risking crossing valleys during periods of rainfall, as they may pose dangers to lives and property.
It also warned against recreational activities near flood channels and stagnant water or swimming in them, as these are unsafe locations and pose a significant risk, stressing the importance of the family's role in educating children and keeping them away from dangerous areas during trips and outdoor outings.
The directorate urged everyone to follow the instructions and preventive guidelines issued through media outlets and social media platforms, and to contact the number (911) in the Riyadh, Mecca, Medina, and Eastern Province areas, and the number (998) in other regions of the Kingdom to request assistance in emergency situations.
