The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, condemned in the strongest terms the treacherous terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militia on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, emphasizing that the repeated targeting of this civilian facility embodies a criminal approach based on terrorizing the innocent and endangering the lives of travelers and workers, in a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.
The Secretary-General stressed that these assaults and the conversion of civilian airports into targets for attack represent a highly dangerous escalation that threatens the safety of civil aviation, necessitating a firm international response to deter these Houthi practices.
The Secretary-General affirmed that the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council stand united alongside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, fully supporting all measures it takes to protect its security and sovereignty and to safeguard the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory, emphasizing that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of the security of the Council's states, and that any harm to it affects the entire Gulf system.
