The participants in the Fourth International Conference of ASEAN Countries, "The Best Nation," organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh, expressed in their final statement issued today their condemnation and denunciation of the criminal acts carried out by the terrorist Houthi militia targeting the sanctities of Muslims and launching drones and missiles towards Mecca and Medina and civilian targets in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They praised the efforts made by the Kingdom in unifying the word and the ranks through holding and supporting this conference, affirming its pioneering role in conveying the noble message of Islam.

The attendees concluded with several recommendations, the foremost of which was to express gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince for convening this conference and their efforts in serving Islam and Muslims and uniting their word on the path of moderation and balance. They affirmed that moderation is what the Prophet - peace be upon him - and his companions, as well as the three best centuries, adhered to, and that holding onto it is a way to solve problems and overcome challenges, calling on Muslims to make moderation and balance a comprehensive way of life in worship, transactions, and ethics, so that societies can be based on the correct concept of religiosity, achieving both the righteousness of religion and the world, and contributing to the building and flourishing of their homelands.

They emphasized that the foundation upon which the meeting is based is adherence to the correct creed, achieving pure monotheism for Allah Almighty, following the Prophet - peace be upon him - sincerely, avoiding extremism or negligence, and being cautious of polytheism, innovations, and anything that incurs the wrath of Allah Almighty; indicating that Islam is all about justice, mercy, and goodness, prohibiting oppression, aggression, and terrorist acts, preserving human dignity, and achieving the principles of safe living in societies without regard to belief, color, or race.

The attendees stressed during the conference the necessity for scholars and preachers to fulfill their religious duty in spreading the correct creed, teaching the fundamentals of religion, disseminating the methodology of the righteous predecessors, clarifying the goodness of the nation, exposing fabrications and misconceptions, and instilling these noble Islamic values in the hearts of the youth, while benefiting from modern technology and artificial intelligence techniques.

The attendees confirmed the importance of this conference and its pivotal role in cooperating on righteousness and piety, and the importance of its continuation due to its significant impact and service to Muslims and their issues, expressing gratitude to the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia for hosting the fourth edition and the facilities provided for holding the conference.

The Fourth International Conference of ASEAN Countries, "The Best Nation," which was attended by about 130 figures from scholars, researchers, and Islamic personalities from the Kingdom and ASEAN member states, included (8) scientific sessions that discussed several axes and issues related to the goodness of the nation, enhancing unity, establishing the methodology of moderation and balance, confronting extremism and radicalism, and promoting cooperation between scholars and Islamic institutions in the member states.
