The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Turkey met in New York yesterday on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, and discussed the latest developments in Gaza.
The ministers expressed deep concern over the ongoing humanitarian suffering in the sector, calling on Israel to fulfill its obligations under the first phase of the comprehensive plan, and to ensure the immediate, safe, and unobstructed delivery of humanitarian aid and early recovery supplies, as well as to commit to a ceasefire and end violations.
They emphasized that the roadmap represents a framework for implementing the second phase of the plan, which includes the complete Israeli withdrawal, the deployment of an international stabilization force, the national committee taking over the responsibilities in Gaza, and the initiation of early recovery and reconstruction, urging all parties to fulfill their commitments without delay.
The ministers reiterated their rejection of any attempts to expel or forcibly displace Palestinians or to change the geographical and demographic character of the occupied Palestinian land, condemning settlement expansion, land confiscation, home demolitions, settler violence, and forced displacement, stressing the necessity to halt these actions and to preserve the historical and legal status of the holy sites in Jerusalem.
They affirmed that Gaza is an integral part of the Palestinian land, and that the implementation of the plan should contribute to the reunification of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, leading to a path for the Palestinian people to exercise their right to self-determination and establish an independent, sovereign Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, through a two-state solution.
The ministers praised the leadership of U.S. President Donald Trump, affirming the pivotal role of the United States in implementing the plan, and calling for active and sustained American engagement to ensure that all parties fulfill their commitments and overcome obstacles to implementing the roadmap. They renewed their readiness to work with the United States, the Peace Council, the Palestinian Authority, and all concerned parties to advance the implementation of the plan and the roadmap, and to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, leading to achieving a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace in the region.
