In a homeland where ambition has become a method for the future, Saudi dreams no longer stand at the limits of the possible; they have transformed into projects and achievements seen by the world. Since the launch of Saudi Vision 2030, led by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, the Kingdom has entered a new phase characterized by the Saudi citizen as a partner in shaping the future.
The phrase "Our pride is in our ambition" is no longer just a slogan for a national occasion; it has become a summary of a nation that invests in its sons and daughters, opening up avenues for learning, work, innovation, and global competition, while adhering to a steadfast national identity that accompanies them wherever they go.
The researcher specialized in the history of the Arabian Peninsula, Dr. Sara bint Ahmed Al-Zahrani, confirmed to "Okaz" that the most beautiful images of Saudi ambition abroad are those that combine openness to the world with pride in one's roots.
She recalled her participation in the National Day celebration organized by the Saudi Cultural Attaché in the United Kingdom in collaboration with the Saudi Club in London, saying: "I did not see an audience merely listening to a speech, but a scene that encapsulates the meaning of the homeland; young men and women in their national attire, and families chanting traditional songs and participating in the sword dance."
She added that the most impactful scene was of children, some of whom were born and raised outside the Kingdom, yet wore Saudi attire and proudly chanted the songs of their homeland, emphasizing that their families transformed identity into a living experience for the children.
She continued: "Saudis leave space in their luggage for national attire, Saudi coffee, dates, and incense; small in size but significant in meaning, for we may leave the homeland, but the homeland never leaves our hearts."
Dr. Sara Al-Zahrani stated: "Here, the phrase 'Our pride is in our ambition' is embodied; we move forward in knowledge without distancing ourselves from the homeland, carrying it with us as an identity, purpose, and belonging, and we return to it with knowledge, experience, and achievement."
On the occasion of National Day, identity and ambition converge in a scene of a nation drawing its determination from a solid history and shaping its future through its sons and daughters; for the Saudi may cross borders in search of knowledge and achievement, but he carries his homeland with him wherever he goes.
