The foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Turkey met in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly to discuss the latest developments in Gaza.
The ministers expressed deep concern over the ongoing humanitarian suffering in the sector and called on Israel to fulfill its obligations under the first phase of the comprehensive plan, ensuring the immediate, safe, and unobstructed delivery of humanitarian aid and early recovery supplies, and to adhere to a ceasefire and end violations.
Roadmap
They affirmed that the roadmap represents a framework for implementing the second phase of the plan, which includes the complete Israeli withdrawal, the deployment of an international stabilization force, the national committee taking over its responsibilities in managing Gaza, and the commencement of early recovery and reconstruction, urging all parties to fulfill their commitments without delay.
The ministers reiterated their rejection of any attempts to expel or forcibly displace Palestinians or alter the geographic and demographic character of the occupied Palestinian land. They condemned settlement expansion, land confiscation, home demolitions, settler violence, and forced displacement, emphasizing the necessity of halting these actions and preserving the historical and legal status of the holy sites in Jerusalem.
The Right to Self-Determination
They confirmed that Gaza is an integral part of Palestinian land and that the implementation of the plan should contribute to the reunification of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, leading to a path for the Palestinian people to exercise their right to self-determination and establish an independent, sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, through a two-state solution.
The ministers praised the leadership of U.S. President Donald Trump, affirming the pivotal role of the United States in implementing the plan, and called for active and sustained American engagement to ensure that all parties meet their commitments and overcome obstacles to implementing the roadmap.
They reiterated their readiness to work with the United States, the Peace Council, the Palestinian Authority, and all concerned parties to advance the implementation of the plan and the roadmap, alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people, and achieving a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace in the region.
