The Kingdom affirmed that this cowardly terrorist attack on the sacred land, the land of the message and the descent of revelation and the qibla of Muslims, represents a repetition of the Houthi militia's practices in targeting and violating the holy sites, and is a provocation to the feelings of Muslims around the world. It pointed out that this attempt is the second to target Mecca, following the first attempt on 27/7/2017 AD. The Kingdom praised the vigilance of the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces, which confronted the attack and managed to intercept and destroy the drone before it entered the restricted airspace of the holy capital, Mecca. The Kingdom renewed its call for the international community to condemn these grave attacks and to take a firm stance against the Houthi militia's assaults on the holy sites and civilian and economic entities in the Kingdom, as well as their threat to the freedom of maritime navigation for commercial ships and international trade.
