أدانت الأمم المتحدة الهجمات التي نفذتها المليشيا الحوثية واستهدفت البنية التحتية المدنية وقطاع الطاقة في المملكة العربية السعودية، مؤكدة ضرورة حماية أمن البحر الأحمر، واستعادة حقوق وحريات الملاحة في مضيق باب المندب واحترامها، وفقاً للقانون الدولي وقرارات مجلس الأمن ذات الصلة.
جاء ذلك خلال جلسة طارئة عقدها مجلس الأمن الدولي أمس لمناقشة التطورات في باب المندب، إذ أشار مساعد الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة لشؤون الشرق الأوسط وآسيا ودول المحيط الهادئ خالد خياري، إلى الهجمات التي تعرّضت لها المملكة خلال الأيام الماضية.
The United Nations condemned the attacks carried out by the Houthi militia that targeted civilian infrastructure and the energy sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the necessity of protecting the security of the Red Sea, restoring navigation rights and freedoms in the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and respecting them in accordance with international law and relevant Security Council resolutions.
This came during an emergency session held by the United Nations Security Council yesterday to discuss developments in the Bab al-Mandab, where Khaled Khayari, the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations for Middle Eastern, Asian, and Pacific Affairs, referred to the attacks that the Kingdom has faced in recent days.
