احتفت الإدارة العامة للتعليم بمنطقة مكة المكرمة، ممثلةً في قسم التعليم المستمر، باليوم الدولي لمحو الأمية الذي يصادف الثامن من سبتمبر من كل عام، تحت شعار «محو الأمية من أجل الإنسان والكوكب والازدهار»، في إطار جهودها الرامية إلى تعزيز الوعي بأهمية التعليم المستمر بوصفه ركيزة أساسية لتحقيق التنمية المستدامة.
وشهدت مدارس التعليم المستمر في مكة تنفيذ حزمة من الأنشطة والفعاليات خلال الأسبوع المقبل؛ بهدف ترسيخ قيمة التعلم مدى الحياة وتشجيع الدارسين والدارسات على مواصلة رحلتهم التعليمية. ومن أبرز تلك الفعاليات نشاط (بداية الحكاية) الذي يستعرض قصصًا ملهمة لدارسين تحدّوا الأمية، ونشاط «حوار ومهارة» الذي يتضمن جلسات حوارية لتبادل الخبرات ومناقشة التحديات والطموحات وتنمية المهارات الحياتية.
كما شملت الفعاليات نشاط (شجرة الكلمات) الهادف إلى تعزيز الحصيلة اللغوية والمعرفية عبر الكلمات الجديدة التي يتعلمها الدارسون، إلى جانب مسابقة (ارسم مستقبلك) التي تتيح للمشاركين التعبير بالرسم أو التصميم عن أهمية التعليم ودوره في صناعة المستقبل.
ويبلغ عدد مدارس التعليم المستمر في المنطقة 32 مدرسة؛ منها 20 للبنين و12 للبنات، يعمل فيها 28 إداريًا و133 معلمًا ومعلمة، فيما تضم المنطقة 9 مراكز للحي المتعلم تقدم برامج تعليمية ومجتمعية تسهم في تمكين أفراد المجتمع ونشر ثقافة التعلم مدى الحياة.
The General Administration of Education in the Makkah Region, represented by the Continuing Education Department, celebrated the International Literacy Day, which falls on the eighth of September each year, under the slogan "Literacy for Humanity, the Planet, and Prosperity," as part of its efforts to enhance awareness of the importance of lifelong learning as a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development.
Continuing education schools in Makkah witnessed the implementation of a series of activities and events during the upcoming week, aimed at instilling the value of lifelong learning and encouraging learners to continue their educational journey. Among the most notable of these activities is the "Beginning of the Story" activity, which showcases inspiring stories of learners who have challenged illiteracy, and the "Dialogue and Skill" activity, which includes discussion sessions to exchange experiences, discuss challenges and aspirations, and develop life skills.
The events also included the "Tree of Words" activity, aimed at enhancing linguistic and cognitive vocabulary through the new words learned by the students, in addition to the "Draw Your Future" competition, which allows participants to express through drawing or design the importance of education and its role in shaping the future.
There are 32 continuing education schools in the region; 20 for boys and 12 for girls, employing 28 administrators and 133 male and female teachers, while the region includes 9 learning neighborhood centers that offer educational and community programs that contribute to empowering community members and promoting a culture of lifelong learning.
