Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the closing ceremony for the female participants in the King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran was held in Mecca, marking its forty-sixth session. The event was honored by the presence of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' wife, Princess Fahda bint Falah Al Hathlin, who awarded the winners in the various categories of the competition, in a Quranic event organized for the first time with a separate section for female contestants.

The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a recorded speech from the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, and the General Supervisor of local and international Quranic competitions, Sheikh Dr. Abdulatif bin Abdulaziz Al Sheikh. He emphasized that the forty-sixth session represents a new milestone in the history of the competition, due to the international female participation and a special closing ceremony for the contestants, under the support and care provided by the wise leadership.

The Minister of Islamic Affairs pointed out that dedicating a section for females reflects the significant interest in the female memorizers of the Book of Allah and enhances their presence in this competition, which bears the name of King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud (may Allah have mercy on him) and gathers a select group of memorizers from various countries around the world in the sacred city of Mecca to compete in the memorization, recitation, and interpretation of the Holy Quran. He affirmed that the presence of Princess Fahda bint Falah Al Hathlin and her honoring of the winners embodies the appreciation and care that female memorizers of the Quran receive, giving this occasion a special dimension in celebrating the people of the Quran and highlighting their efforts in memorizing and mastering the Book of Allah.

Al Sheikh congratulated the contestants on their participation, stressing that the true honor for the memorizers of the Quran lies in demonstrating the impact of the Book of Allah in knowledge, action, morals, and behavior, and in being shining examples and ambassadors of goodness for their homelands. He also valued the efforts of the judges and what they provided in terms of precise scientific work according to methodological standards in judging the competition categories.

The ceremony included a visual presentation and samples of the contestants' recitations, before Princess Fahda bint Falah Al Hathlin honored the winners and the members of the judging committee. The event was attended by a number of princesses, officials, judges, and heads of participating delegations, in a historic Quranic event that for the first time adds special competitions for female contestants within the King Abdulaziz International Competition.
