عادت سوسة النخيل الحمراء للظهور مجددًا في عدد من مزارع واستراحات السيل الصغير، ما أثار مخاوف الأهالي والمزارعين من انتشارها وتأثيرها المباشر في أشجار النخيل وما قد تسببه من أضرار على الإنتاج الزراعي في المنطقة.
كشف مبكر
وأكد عدد من الأهالي أن تجدد ظهور الآفة يستدعي تكثيف أعمال الرصد والكشف المبكر، إلى جانب اتخاذ الإجراءات الوقائية والعلاجية اللازمة للحد من انتشارها، مشيرين إلى أن مكافحة السوسة في مراحلها الأولى تُعد خطوة أساسية لحماية أشجار النخيل وتقليل الخسائر الزراعية المحتملة.
وطالب الأهالي الجهات المختصة بتكثيف الجولات الميدانية على المزارع والاستراحات، وتقديم الإرشاد والدعم للمزارعين، بما يسهم في الحفاظ على الثروة الزراعية والحد من انتشار سوسة النخيل الحمراء في السيل الصغير.

A number of residents confirmed that the resurgence of the pest necessitates intensifying monitoring and early detection efforts, in addition to taking the necessary preventive and therapeutic measures to limit its spread. They pointed out that combating the weevil in its early stages is a fundamental step to protect palm trees and reduce potential agricultural losses.
Residents called on the relevant authorities to intensify field visits to farms and rest areas, and to provide guidance and support to farmers, which would contribute to preserving agricultural wealth and limiting the spread of the red palm weevil in Al-Sail Al-Saghir.
