التقت المدير التنفيذي للمجلس الدولي للتمور اليوم الأميرة سارة بنت بندر بن عبدالعزيز سفير جمهورية باكستان الإسلامية لدى المملكة أحمد فاروق، وذلك بمقر السفارة في الرياض.
وجرى خلال اللقاء بحث استكمال إجراءات انضمام جمهورية باكستان الإسلامية إلى المجلس الدولي للتمور، إلى جانب استعراض مستجدات أعمال المجلس، وبحث مجالات التعاون ذات الاهتمام المشترك بما يدعم تطوير قطاع التمور وتعزيز الشراكات الدولية.
وأكدت حرص المجلس على توسيع قاعدة عضويته، وتعزيز التعاون مع الدول المنتجة للتمور، بما يسهم في تبادل الخبرات، وتنسيق الجهود الرامية إلى تطوير قطاع التمور وتعزيز استدامته.
ويأتي بحث انضمام جمهورية باكستان الإسلامية إلى المجلس في ظل مكانتها بوصفها إحدى أبرز الدول المنتجة للتمور عالميًا، إذ يتراوح إنتاجها السنوي بين 500 و600 ألف طن، مع خطط لزيادة الإنتاج خلال السنوات القادمة.
The Executive Director of the International Date Palm Council met today with Princess Sara bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Kingdom, Ahmed Farooq, at the embassy in Riyadh.
During the meeting, they discussed the completion of the procedures for the accession of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the International Date Palm Council, in addition to reviewing the latest developments in the council's activities and exploring areas of cooperation of mutual interest that support the development of the date palm sector and enhance international partnerships.
The council emphasized its commitment to expanding its membership base and enhancing cooperation with date-producing countries, contributing to the exchange of experiences and coordinating efforts aimed at developing the date palm sector and enhancing its sustainability.
The discussion regarding the accession of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the council comes in light of its status as one of the leading date-producing countries globally, with an annual production ranging between 500,000 and 600,000 tons, along with plans to increase production in the coming years.
