جدد سفير جمهورية باكستان الإسلامية لدى السعودية أحمد فاروق تأكيد أن العلاقات الأخوية بين باكستان والمملكة ترتكز على أواصر العقيدة الواحدة، والثقة المتبادلة، والمصالح المشتركة، والاحترام المتبادل، مشيراً إلى أن السعودية ظلت على الدوام الشريك الأكثر موثوقية لباكستان في منطقة الشرق الأوسط والعالم العربي.
وأوضح لـ «عكاظ» أن العلاقات الثنائية شهدت خلال السنوات الأخيرة محطات بارزة عكست متانة الشراكة بين البلدين، أبرزها توقيع اتفاقية الدفاع الاستراتيجي المشترك (SMDA)، وإطلاق إطار التعاون الاقتصادي السعودي–الباكستاني (SPEF)، إلى جانب تشكيل مجلس الأعمال السعودي الباكستاني المشترك، الذي يضم نخبة من كبار رجال الأعمال من الجانبين، بما يسهم في تعزيز التعاون الاقتصادي والاستثماري وفتح آفاق جديدة للشراكة بين البلدين.
2.7 مليون باكستاني
وأضاف السفير فاروق أن هذه الإنجازات جاءت ثمرة لسلسلة من اللقاءات والاتصالات المكثفة على مستوى قيادتي البلدين، إذ قام رئيس وزراء باكستان بزيارة المملكة 11 مرة منذ مارس 2024، كما قام رئيس قوات الدفاع الباكستانية بـ11 زيارة خلال الفترة نفسها، إلى جانب عدد كبير من الزيارات الوزارية واللقاءات رفيعة المستوى المتبادلة ما يعكس حرص القيادتين على مواصلة تطوير العلاقات الثنائية والارتقاء بها إلى مستويات أكثر تقدماً في مختلف المجالات.
وأشار السفير الباكستاني إلى أن السعودية لا تزال الوجهة الرئيسة للعمالة الباكستانية في الخارج، إذ انتقل إليها أكثر من 500 ألف عامل باكستاني خلال عام 2025، فيما يقيم في المملكة حالياً نحو 2.7 مليون باكستاني، يشكلون جسراً إنسانياً مهماً بين البلدين، ويسهمون بدور فاعل في مسيرة التنمية والازدهار في كل من المملكة العربية السعودية وجمهورية باكستان الإسلامية، من خلال مشاركتهم في مختلف القطاعات الاقتصادية والتنموية.
وأعرب السفير الباكستاني عن خالص تقديره للسعودية على ما توليه من رعاية واهتمام بالجالية الباكستانية، وحرصها المستمر على رفاهها وتوفير البيئة المناسبة لها، مؤكداً أن هذا الاهتمام يعكس عمق العلاقات الأخوية بين البلدين.نهضة تنموية في الجوف
وأكد السفير الباكستاني أن الروابط الوثيقة بين الشعبين الشقيقين تمثّل ركيزة أساسية لتعزيز الشراكة الاقتصادية، وترسيخ العلاقات السياسية، وتوسيع مجالات التعاون في مختلف القطاعات، بما يسهم في بناء شراكة أكثر متانة واستدامة، تحقق المصالح المشتركة للبلدين والشعبين الصديقين، وتفتح آفاقاً أوسع للتعاون خلال المرحلة المقبلة.
وأعرب سفير جمهورية باكستان، عن سعادته بزيارة منطقة الجوف وما تضمه من مواقع سياحية وأثرية، مؤكداً أن الزيارة تركت لديه انطباعاً بالغاً بما تشهده المنطقة من نهضة تنموية متسارعة في مختلف القطاعات.
وقال: تشرفت بلقاء أمير منطقة الجوف الأمير فيصل بن نواف بن عبدالعزيز وكان لقاء مثمراً وبنّاءً، وجرى اللقاء في أجواء ودية عكست عمق العلاقات وروح التفاهم المتبادل، إذ أجرينا مباحثات مستفيضة حول العلاقات الثنائية وسبل تعزيزها.
وأضاف أنه أعرب لأمير منطقة الجوف عن تقديره للنهضة التي تشهدها المنطقة والمبادرات التنموية التي تنسجم مع مستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030، مشيراً إلى أن المنطقة تمضي بخطى متسارعة نحو ترسيخ مكانتها بوصفها إحدى المناطق الرائدة في المملكة، من خلال تبني التقنيات الحديثة، وتعزيز التنمية المستدامة، والمحافظة على البيئة.
تطوير قدرات المزارعين
وأوضح السفير فاروق أنه استعرض خلال اللقاء التطور المتواصل في مجالات التعاون السياسي والدفاعي والاقتصادي والاجتماعي والثقافي بين جمهورية باكستان الإسلامية والمملكة العربية السعودية، كما ناقش مع أمير المنطقة الفرص الاقتصادية الواعدة في الجوف، وفي مقدمتها قطاع زراعة الزيتون، وإمكانات التعاون في تطوير قدرات المزارعين الباكستانيين من خلال الاستفادة من الخبرات المتقدمة التي تمتلكها المنطقة، خصوصاً في أفضل الممارسات الزراعية، وعمليات التصنيع، واستخلاص زيت الزيتون، والتعبئة والتغليف، بما يسهم في تعزيز التعاون الاقتصادي وتبادل الخبرات بين البلدين.
حفاوة وكرم ضيافة
وأضاف أنه عقد لقاءات مع جهات عدة بالمنطقة التي تعد زيارته لها هي الأولى، مشيراً إلى أنه تأثر كثيراً بما لقيه من حفاوة استقبال وكرم ضيافة عكسا أصالة أهالي الجوف وحسن وفادتهم، سواء من المسؤولين في الجهات الحكومية أو من أبناء المنطقة التي تكتسب أهمية خاصة لما تتمتع به من موقع استراتيجي، ودور محوري في قطاعي النقل والخدمات اللوجستية، فضلاً عن إمكاناتها الزراعية الكبيرة ومشروعاتها الواعدة في مجال الطاقة المتجددة. وقال: «أعجبت بما تشهده المنطقة من نهضة تنموية شاملة في ظل رؤية المملكة 2030، ولا سيما في قطاع زراعة الزيتون».
وأشار إلى أن منطقة الجوف تحتضن أكثر من 100 ألف مواطن باكستاني، يسهمون بدور فاعل في مسيرة التنمية والازدهار في كل من المملكة العربية السعودية وجمهورية باكستان الإسلامية، مؤكداً أن هدف الزيارة يتمثّل في تعزيز وتوسيع آفاق التعاون والعلاقات الثنائية مع منطقة الجوف، بما يخدم المصالح المشتركة ويعزز أواصر الصداقة بين الجانبين.
صالح الحجاج
The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Farooq, reaffirmed that the fraternal relations between Pakistan and the Kingdom are based on shared beliefs, mutual trust, common interests, and mutual respect, pointing out that Saudi Arabia has always been Pakistan's most reliable partner in the Middle East and the Arab world.
He explained to "Okaz" that the bilateral relations have witnessed significant milestones in recent years that reflect the strength of the partnership between the two countries, the most notable of which is the signing of the Strategic Defense Agreement (SMDA) and the launch of the Saudi-Pakistani Economic Cooperation Framework (SPEF), in addition to the formation of the Saudi-Pakistani Joint Business Council, which includes a select group of prominent businessmen from both sides, contributing to enhancing economic and investment cooperation and opening new horizons for partnership between the two countries.
2.7 Million Pakistanis
The ambassador added that these achievements are the result of a series of intensive meetings and communications at the leadership level of both countries, as the Prime Minister of Pakistan has visited the Kingdom 11 times since March 2024, and the Chief of the Pakistan Defense Forces has made 11 visits during the same period, along with a large number of ministerial visits and high-level reciprocal meetings, reflecting the leadership's commitment to continue developing bilateral relations and elevating them to more advanced levels in various fields.
The Pakistani ambassador pointed out that Saudi Arabia remains the primary destination for Pakistani labor abroad, with more than 500,000 Pakistani workers having moved there during the year 2025, while currently around 2.7 million Pakistanis reside in the Kingdom, forming an important humanitarian bridge between the two countries and actively contributing to the development and prosperity of both the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan through their participation in various economic and developmental sectors.
The Pakistani ambassador expressed his sincere appreciation to Saudi Arabia for its care and attention to the Pakistani community and its continuous commitment to their welfare and providing a suitable environment for them, emphasizing that this attention reflects the depth of the fraternal relations between the two countries.Developmental Renaissance in Al-Jouf
The Pakistani ambassador confirmed that the close ties between the two brotherly peoples represent a fundamental pillar for enhancing economic partnership, solidifying political relations, and expanding areas of cooperation in various sectors, contributing to building a more robust and sustainable partnership that achieves the common interests of both countries and their friendly peoples, and opens wider horizons for cooperation in the upcoming phase.
The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan expressed his happiness at visiting the Al-Jouf region and the tourist and archaeological sites it contains, confirming that the visit left a profound impression on him regarding the rapid developmental renaissance the region is witnessing in various sectors.
He said: "I had the honor of meeting the Prince of Al-Jouf, Prince Faisal bin Nawaf bin Abdulaziz, and it was a fruitful and constructive meeting, held in a friendly atmosphere that reflected the depth of relations and the spirit of mutual understanding, during which we conducted extensive discussions about bilateral relations and ways to enhance them."
He added that he expressed to the Prince of Al-Jouf his appreciation for the renaissance the region is witnessing and the developmental initiatives that align with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, noting that the region is making rapid strides towards establishing its position as one of the leading regions in the Kingdom by adopting modern technologies, enhancing sustainable development, and preserving the environment.
Developing Farmers' Capabilities
The ambassador, Farooq, explained that he reviewed during the meeting the ongoing development in the fields of political, defense, economic, social, and cultural cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and he discussed with the Prince of the region the promising economic opportunities in Al-Jouf, foremost of which is the olive cultivation sector, and the potential for cooperation in developing the capabilities of Pakistani farmers by benefiting from the advanced expertise that the region possesses, especially in best agricultural practices, manufacturing processes, olive oil extraction, and packaging, which contributes to enhancing economic cooperation and exchanging expertise between the two countries.
Warmth and Hospitality
He added that he held meetings with several entities in the region, marking his first visit there, noting that he was greatly affected by the warm reception and generous hospitality that reflected the authenticity of the people of Al-Jouf and their kindness, whether from officials in government agencies or from the local residents, who hold special importance due to their strategic location and pivotal role in the transportation and logistics sectors, in addition to their significant agricultural capabilities and promising projects in the field of renewable energy. He said: "I was impressed by the comprehensive developmental renaissance the region is witnessing under Saudi Vision 2030, especially in the olive cultivation sector."
He pointed out that the Al-Jouf region is home to more than 100,000 Pakistani citizens who play an active role in the development and prosperity of both the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, emphasizing that the purpose of the visit is to enhance and expand the horizons of cooperation and bilateral relations with the Al-Jouf region, serving mutual interests and strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two sides.
