أكدت المملكة العربية السعودية أهمية تعزيز التعاون الدولي وتكثيف الجهود المشتركة لمواجهة التحديات الإنسانية المتزايدة، وسد الفجوة بين الاحتياجات الإنسانية والموارد المتاحة، بما يسهم في تعزيز الاستجابة للأزمات ودعم قدرة المجتمعات المتضررة على التعافي والصمود.
جاء ذلك خلال مشاركة مندوب المملكة الدائم لدى الأمم المتحدة، السفير الدكتور عبدالعزيز الواصل، في أعمال منتدى الشؤون الإنسانية للمجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي لعام 2026، حيث جدد التأكيد على التزام المملكة الراسخ بدعم الجهود الدولية الهادفة إلى تخفيف المعاناة الإنسانية وتعزيز الاستقرار وتحقيق التنمية المستدامة.
وأوضح السفير الواصل، أن المملكة احتلت المرتبة الثانية عالميًا والأولى عربيًا بين الدول المانحة للمساعدات الإنسانية خلال عام 2025، في امتداد لدورها الريادي في دعم العمل الإنساني وتقديم المساعدات للمحتاجين في مختلف أنحاء العالم.
وشدد على أن ردم الفجوة بين العمل الإنساني والتنموي يمثل أولوية أساسية لتعافي المجتمعات المتأثرة بالأزمات وتعزيز قدرتها على الصمود والاستقرار، مشيرًا إلى أن اتساع الفجوة التمويلية على المستوى العالمي يتطلب تعزيز آليات التمويل الإنساني المستدام والمرن، وتوسيع قاعدة المانحين، وبناء شراكات فاعلة مع القطاعين الخاص وغير الربحي لضمان استدامة تدفق الموارد المالية المخصصة للعمل الإنساني.
وأكد السفير الواصل استمرار المملكة في دعم المبادرات والجهود الدولية الرامية إلى التخفيف من المعاناة الإنسانية وتعزيز قدرة المجتمعات على التعافي والصمود، انطلاقًا من إيمانها بأن العمل الإنساني يمثل استثمارًا في الأمن والاستقرار والتنمية المستدامة للجميع.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia emphasized the importance of enhancing international cooperation and intensifying joint efforts to address the increasing humanitarian challenges, and to bridge the gap between humanitarian needs and available resources, which contributes to strengthening crisis response and supporting the ability of affected communities to recover and be resilient.
This came during the participation of the Kingdom's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, in the activities of the Humanitarian Affairs Forum of the Economic and Social Council for the year 2026, where he reaffirmed the Kingdom's steadfast commitment to supporting international efforts aimed at alleviating humanitarian suffering, promoting stability, and achieving sustainable development.
Ambassador Al-Wasel clarified that the Kingdom ranked second globally and first Arabically among donor countries for humanitarian assistance during the year 2025, continuing its pioneering role in supporting humanitarian work and providing aid to those in need around the world.
He stressed that bridging the gap between humanitarian and developmental work is a fundamental priority for the recovery of communities affected by crises and enhancing their resilience and stability, pointing out that the widening financing gap at the global level requires strengthening sustainable and flexible humanitarian financing mechanisms, expanding the donor base, and building effective partnerships with the private and non-profit sectors to ensure the sustainability of financial resources allocated for humanitarian work.
Ambassador Al-Wasel confirmed the Kingdom's continued support for international initiatives and efforts aimed at alleviating humanitarian suffering and enhancing the ability of communities to recover and be resilient, based on its belief that humanitarian work represents an investment in security, stability, and sustainable development for all.
