دشّن وزير البيئة والمياه والزراعة المهندس عبدالرحمن الفضلي، فعاليات ومعرض «أسبوع البيئة السعودي 2026»، الذي ينطلق تحت شعار «أثرك أخضر» تزامناً مع برامج توعوية شاملة في جميع مناطق المملكة، تهدف إلى ترسيخ الشراكة المجتمعية وتكامل الجهود بين القطاعات الحكومية والخاصة وغير الربحية لحماية البيئة وتنميتها تحقيقاً لمستهدفات رؤية 2030.
وقد أبرزت الفعاليات التحول النوعي الذي حققته المملكة في هذا القطاع، إذ تضاعفت مساحات المناطق المحمية لأكثر من أربعة أضعاف، وارتفعت نسب إعادة تدوير النفايات بثلاثة أضعاف، مع نجاح إعادة تأهيل مليون هكتار من الأراضي وزراعة 159 مليون شجرة، إلى جانب الدور الريادي للمملكة دولياً، عبر مبادرة «الشرق الأوسط الأخضر» واستضافة المؤتمرات العالمية لمكافحة التصحر، فيما يستعرض المعرض المصاحب أحدث التقنيات والمبادرات التفاعلية لتعزيز الاستدامة البيئية والأمن المائي والغذائي.
The Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Fadli, inaugurated the activities and exhibition of "Saudi Environment Week 2026," which kicks off under the slogan "Your Impact is Green," coinciding with comprehensive awareness programs across all regions of the Kingdom. These programs aim to establish community partnership and integrate efforts between government, private, and non-profit sectors to protect and develop the environment in line with the objectives of Vision 2030.
The events highlighted the qualitative transformation that the Kingdom has achieved in this sector, as the areas of protected regions have increased more than fourfold, and the rates of waste recycling have tripled. Additionally, there has been success in rehabilitating one million hectares of land and planting 159 million trees, alongside the Kingdom's leading role internationally through the "Green Middle East" initiative and hosting global conferences to combat desertification. The accompanying exhibition showcases the latest technologies and interactive initiatives to enhance environmental sustainability and food and water security.
