أزالت فرق ميدانية تتبع أمانة جدة في الشرفية وعدد من الأحياء الأخرى أقفالا إلكترونية وحواجز متنوعة لحجز مواقف السيارات، كما رصدت استخدام مواد صلبة مثل: الأخشاب والكراسي ومواد البناء والسلاسل لمنع وقوف المركبات، بما يعد مخالفة للأنظمة ويؤثر في انسيابية الاستخدام العام للمواقف.
واعتبرت الأمانة ذلك من الظواهر السلبية واستغلال المواقف العامة. وأوضحت أن معالجة الظواهر السلبية، شملت بإزالة الأقفال والحواجز كافة، ومعالجة المواقع بشكل فوري، بما يضمن إعادة المواقف إلى وضعها الطبيعي وإتاحتها للجميع، وذلك ضمن نطاق بلديتي الجامعة وجدة الجديدة، في أحياء البلد والشرفية والبغدادية والحمراء.
وأكدت الأمانة استمرار جهودها في رصد مثل هذه التجاوزات ومعالجتها، ضمن خططها لمعالجة الظواهر السلبية والارتقاء بجودة الحياة، داعيةً إلى الالتزام بالأنظمة والتعليمات، وعدم استغلال المرافق العامة بما يضر بالمصلحة العامة.
Field teams affiliated with the Jeddah Municipality in Al-Sharafiya and several other neighborhoods removed electronic locks and various barriers that were blocking parking spaces. They also observed the use of solid materials such as wood, chairs, construction materials, and chains to prevent vehicles from parking, which constitutes a violation of regulations and affects the smooth public use of parking areas.
The municipality considered this a negative phenomenon and an exploitation of public parking. It clarified that addressing these negative phenomena included the removal of all locks and barriers, and the immediate rectification of the sites, ensuring that the parking spaces are returned to their normal state and made available to everyone, within the scope of the University and New Jeddah municipalities, in the neighborhoods of Al-Balad, Al-Sharafiya, Al-Baghdadiya, and Al-Hamra.
The municipality confirmed its ongoing efforts to monitor and address such violations as part of its plans to tackle negative phenomena and enhance the quality of life, calling for adherence to regulations and instructions, and not exploiting public facilities in a manner that harms the public interest.
