جدد وزير الخارجية المصري الدكتور بدر عبد العاطي، التأكيد على تضامن مصر الكامل مع السعودية، مشددا على رفض مصر القاطع وإدانتها الصريحة للاعتداءات التي طالت أراضي المملكة والدول العربية الشقيقة، مؤكدا أنه لا يوجد أي مبرر لتلك الاعتداءات الآثمة، وأن المساس بسيادة المملكة هو مساس مباشر بالأمن القومي المصري والعربي.
وخلال جلسة مباحثات، مساء (الإثنين) بالعاصمة السعودية الرياض بين وزير الخارجية الأمير فيصل بن فرحان ونظيره المصري، ناقش الوزيران سبل تدعيم الأمن القومي العربي، حيث أكد عبد العاطي الحاجة الملحة لبلورة مفهوم عملي للأمن الجماعي العربي والإقليمى ووضع الآليات التنفيذية له، والشروع في وضع ترتيبات أمنية في الإطار الإقليمي سواء في إطار الجامعة العربية أو بالتعاون مع أطراف إقليمية غير عربية، باعتبار ذلك ضرورة إستراتيجية ملحة للتعامل مع التحديات غير المسبوقة التي تستهدف سيادة الدول العربية.
وتصدرت جهود خفض التصعيد أجندة المباحثات، حيث استعرض الوزيران التداعيات الوخيمة للتصعيد العسكري الراهن، وجدد الوزير المصري التحذير من مغبة المراهنة على الخيارات العسكرية التي لن تفضي إلا لتعميق الأزمة وتوسيع رقعة الصراع، مشدداً على ضرورة الوقف الفوري للاعتداءات المستهجنة، وتغليب المسار الدبلوماسي ولغة الحوار والعقل، للحيلولة دون انزلاق المنطقة نحو فوضى شاملة.
واتفق الوزيران على المضي قدماً في استثمار الزخم الذي تتسم به العلاقات الوطيدة بين البلدين، والعمل على تعزيز الشراكات الاقتصادية ودفع آفاق التعاون في مختلف المجالات، بما يحقق التنمية والازدهار للشعبين الشقيقين.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel Aty reiterated Egypt's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, emphasizing Egypt's firm rejection and explicit condemnation of the attacks that have targeted the Kingdom's territory and that of its Arab sister countries. He affirmed that there is no justification for these heinous attacks and that any infringement on the sovereignty of the Kingdom is a direct infringement on Egyptian and Arab national security.
During a discussion session on (Monday) evening in the Saudi capital Riyadh between Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Egyptian counterpart, the two ministers discussed ways to bolster Arab national security. Abdel Aty emphasized the urgent need to formulate a practical concept for collective Arab and regional security and to establish its executive mechanisms, as well as to initiate security arrangements within the regional framework, whether within the Arab League or in cooperation with non-Arab regional parties, considering this a pressing strategic necessity to address the unprecedented challenges targeting the sovereignty of Arab states.
The efforts to de-escalate tensions topped the agenda of the discussions, as the two ministers reviewed the dire consequences of the current military escalation. The Egyptian minister renewed his warning against betting on military options, which would only deepen the crisis and expand the conflict's scope, stressing the need for an immediate cessation of the reprehensible attacks and prioritizing the diplomatic path and the language of dialogue and reason to prevent the region from slipping into total chaos.
The two ministers agreed to move forward in leveraging the momentum characterized by the strong relations between the two countries and to work on enhancing economic partnerships and advancing cooperation in various fields, achieving development and prosperity for the two brotherly peoples.
