استقبل مطار الملك عبدالعزيز الدولي آخر رحلات السياح العالقين في سقطرى اليمنية وعلى متنها 109 ركاب.
وأكد وزير الإعلام والثقافة والسياحة اليمني معمر الإرياني استكمال عملية وصول جميع السياح العالقين إلى مطار جدة الدولي، عقب مغادرة آخر رحلة إجلاء للخطوط الجوية اليمنية من مطار سقطرى وعلى متنها 109 ركاب، وبذلك يكون قد تم نقل السياح الأجانب كافة.

وأضاف: «نثمن عالياً الجهود المهنية والمسؤولة التي بذلتها الخطوط الجوية اليمنية بقيادة سعادة الكابتن طيار ناصر محمود، ونائبه للشؤون التجارية محسن حيدرة، وكل القيادات الإدارية والفنية والعاملين، وما عكسه ذلك من كفاءة وطنية عالية في إدارة هذا الملف».

وقال الإرياني: «نعبر عن خالص شكرنا وتقديرنا للأشقاء بالمملكة على ما قدموه من تسهيلات وتعاون صادق أسهم بشكل مباشر في إنجاح هذه العملية الإنسانية»، مضيفاً: «نبشر الجميع بأنه ابتداءً من شهر فبراير ستنطلق رحلات دولية مباشرة ومنتظمة من سقطرى إلى جدة (ذهاباً وإياباً) على متن الخطوط الجوية اليمنية، في رسالة طمأنة تؤكد عودة الاستقرار وتعزز الثقة بسقطرى كوجهة سياحية عالمية آمنة. كما نبشر بفتح خط دولي جديد من مطار المخا إلى مطار جدة والعودة».
King Abdulaziz International Airport received the last flights of tourists stranded in Socotra, Yemen, with 109 passengers on board.
The Yemeni Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, confirmed the completion of the arrival of all stranded tourists at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, following the departure of the last evacuation flight of Yemenia Airlines from Socotra with 109 passengers on board, thus all foreign tourists have been transported.

He added: “We highly appreciate the professional and responsible efforts made by Yemenia Airlines, led by Captain Pilot Nasser Mahmoud, and his deputy for commercial affairs, Mohsen Haidra, along with all administrative and technical leaders and staff, which reflected a high national efficiency in managing this file.”

Al-Eryani stated: “We express our sincere thanks and appreciation to our brothers in the Kingdom for the facilities and sincere cooperation they provided, which directly contributed to the success of this humanitarian operation,” adding: “We are pleased to announce that starting from February, regular direct international flights will commence from Socotra to Jeddah (round trip) on Yemenia Airlines, as a message of reassurance confirming the return of stability and enhancing confidence in Socotra as a safe global tourist destination. We also announce the opening of a new international route from Al-Mokha Airport to Jeddah Airport and back.”
