إنفاذاً لأمر خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، قلَّد وزير الدفاع الأمير خالد بن سلمان، قائد الجيش الباكستاني المُشير عاصم منير، وسام الملك عبدالعزيز من الدرجة الممتازة؛ تقديراً لجهوده المميزة في توطيد وتعزيز أواصر الصداقة والتعاون المشترك، وتطوير العلاقات السعودية الباكستانية.
جاء ذلك خلال استقبال وزير الدفاع لقائد الجيش الباكستاني، في مكتبه بالرياض اليوم (الأحد)، وهنأ الأمير خالد بن سلمان، المُشير عاصم منير بمناسبة تعيينه قائداً لقوات الدفاع بجمهورية باكستان الإسلامية، متمنياً له التوفيق والسداد.
كما جرى خلال الاستقبال استعراض العلاقات التاريخية السعودية الباكستانية، والتعاون الإستراتيجي في المجال الدفاعي بين البلدين الشقيقين، وبحث جهود إرساء دعائم الأمن والسلم الدوليين، والموضوعات ذات الاهتمام المشترك.
حضر الاستقبال نائب وزير الدفاع الأمير عبدالرحمن بن محمد بن عياف، ورئيس هيئة الأركان العامة الفريق الأول الركن فياض بن حامد الرويلي، ومستشار وزير الدفاع لشؤون الاستخبارات هشام بن عبدالعزيز بن سيف، والملحق العسكري بسفارة المملكة العربية السعودية في إسلام آباد العميد الركن بندر بن حمد الحقباني.
فيما حضره من الجانب الباكستاني سفير جمهورية باكستان الإسلامية لدى المملكة أحمد فاروق، وسكرتير قائد قوات الدفاع قائد الجيش اللواء محمد جواد طارق، والملحق العسكري بسفارة جمهورية باكستان الإسلامية لدى المملكة العميد محسن جاويد.
In implementation of the order of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman awarded the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, General Asim Munir, the King Abdulaziz Medal of Excellent Degree; in recognition of his distinguished efforts in consolidating and enhancing the bonds of friendship and joint cooperation, and developing Saudi-Pakistani relations.
This took place during the Minister of Defense's reception of the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan in his office in Riyadh today (Sunday), where Prince Khalid bin Salman congratulated General Asim Munir on his appointment as the Commander of the Defense Forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, wishing him success and prosperity.
During the reception, the historical Saudi-Pakistani relations and the strategic cooperation in the defense field between the two brotherly countries were reviewed, along with discussions on efforts to establish the foundations of international peace and security, and topics of mutual interest.
Attending the reception were Deputy Minister of Defense Prince Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Ayaf, Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Fayyad bin Hamid Al-Ruwaili, Minister of Defense Advisor for Intelligence Affairs Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif, and the Military Attaché at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Islamabad, Brigadier General Bandar bin Hamad Al-Haqbani.
From the Pakistani side, the reception was attended by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Kingdom, Ahmed Farooq, the Secretary to the Chief of Defense Forces, Major General Muhammad Jawad Tariq, and the Military Attaché at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Kingdom, Brigadier General Mohsin Javed.
