حصدت منطقة عسیر بالمملكة العربیة السعودیة، جائزة أسرع وجھة سیاحیة نمواً في دول الخلیج العربي لعام 2025، ضمن Arabian Travel Awards، في إنجاز جدید یعكس التحول النوعي الذي تشھده المنطقة على المستویین الإقلیمي والدولي.
ویأتي ھذا التألق تتویجاً لمسار صعودٍ متسارع، اتسعت معه جاذبیة عسیر الطبیعیة، وتعززت قیمتھا التراثیة، واشتد حضورھا في المشھد السیاحي الخلیجي، لتغدو وجھةً رائدة على مدار العام، وموطنًا لتجربة سیاحیة عالمیة تجمع بین الأصالة والتنوع.
نمو متراكم في الحركة السیاحیة
تظھر بیانات وزارة السیاحة، حتى نھایة الربع الثالث من عام 2025، أن منطقة عسیر واصلت تحقیق نمو متراكم في مؤشرات الحركة السیاحیة؛ إذ بلغ إجمالي عدد الزیارات أكثر من 7.5 ملیون زیارة، محققةً نمواً تراكمیاً بنسبة 24% خلال 3 سنوات، بما یعكس استدامة الزخم التصاعدي في الطلب السیاحي واستقرار القاعدة الزائرة للمنطقة، ومحققة قفزة في لیالي الإقامة والإنفاق السیاحي، كما سجل إجمالي عدد لیالي الإقامة نمواً لافتًا خلال الفترة نفسھا، إذ ارتفع من أقل من 40.7 ملیون لیلة في عام 2022 إلى أكثر من 64.2 ملیون لیلة في عام 2024، محققاً نمواً بنسبة 58%، وتوافق ذلك مع ارتفاع متوسط طول الإقامة من أقل من 6 لیالٍ إلى 8.6 لیالٍ، بنسبة نمو بلغت 28%، ما یعكس تحولاً واضحاً في نمط الزیارة نحو إقامات أطول وتجارب سیاحیة أعمق.
ویواكب ھذا التحول ارتفاع إجمالي الإنفاق السیاحي من أقل من 7.4 ملیار ریال في عام 2022 إلى أكثر من 9.1 ملیار ریال في عام 2024، مؤكداً تعاظم الأثر الاقتصادي للقطاع السیاحي في المنطقة.
«الاعتراف العالمي المتنامي»
أدّت الخطة التنمویة الطموحة التي تتبناھا منطقة عسیر، والقائمة على مھارة توظیف تنوعھا الطبیعي والثقافي، إلى تنامي الاعتراف الدولي بھا، تجلّى ذلك في اختیارھا منطقةً عالمیة لفنون الطھي لعام 2024، وإدراج القریتین التاریخیتین طبب ورجال ألمع ضمن قائمة أفضل القرى السیاحیة في العالم.
وتتسع عوامل الجذب في عسیر لتشمل القمم الجبلیة والسھول التھامیة والسواحل والصحارى، إضافة إلى مئات المواقع الأثریة، بما في ذلك القرى والمباني التاریخیة والأسواق القدیمة.
«تقویم سیاحي نشط وربط جوي متوسع»
أسھم تقویم عسیر السیاحي 2025، من خلال برنامجي «ربیعھا بنفسج» و «أبرد وأقرب»، في تنشیط الحركة الموسمیة، حیث سجلت نسبة الزوار الخلیجیین ارتفاعاً بلغ 49% خلال موسم الصیف.
وجاء ذلك مدعوماً بتوسع الربط الجوي عبر أكثر من 9 شركات طیران، تربط مطار أبھا الدولي بما یزید على 10 وجھات محلیة ودولیة، ما أسھم في تسھیل الوصول وتعزیز الطلب السیاحي.
«أثر اقتصادي واستثماري متنامٍ»
تزامن النمو السیاحي مع توسع اقتصادي موازٍ، تمثل في ارتفاع عدد المنشآت الصغیرة والمتوسطة العاملة في قطاع السیاحة بنسبة 35% خلال 3 سنوات، حیث ارتفع عددھا من أقل من 9767 منشأة في عام 2022 إلى أكثر من 13177 منشأة في عام 2024.
وعلى الصعید الاستثماري، شھدت عسیر قفزة نوعیة في المحفظة الاستثماریة، التي ارتفعت من أقل من 400 ملیون ریال إلى أكثر من 15 ملیار ریال من الاستثمارات الملتزم بھا في قطاعات متنوعة.
«حضور دولي ومسار مستدام»
على المستوى الدولي، انضمت عسیر إلى عدد من المنظمات السیاحیة العالمیة، من بینھا UN Tourism وPATA وGSTC، بما یعزز موقعھا العالمي ضمن مسار سیاحي مستدام وطویل المدى، ویؤكد مكانتھا كوجھة ذات رؤیة متكاملة للنمو.
The Asir region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has won the award for the Fastest Growing Tourist Destination in the Gulf Cooperation Council for the year 2025, as part of the Arabian Travel Awards, in a new achievement that reflects the qualitative transformation the region is experiencing on both regional and international levels.
This brilliance comes as a culmination of a rapidly ascending trajectory, during which the natural allure of Asir has expanded, its heritage value has been enhanced, and its presence in the Gulf tourism scene has intensified, making it a leading destination throughout the year and a home for a global tourism experience that combines authenticity and diversity.
Cumulative Growth in Tourism Activity
Data from the Ministry of Tourism, up to the end of the third quarter of 2025, shows that the Asir region has continued to achieve cumulative growth in tourism activity indicators; the total number of visits exceeded 7.5 million visits, achieving a cumulative growth rate of 24% over three years, reflecting the sustainability of the upward momentum in tourism demand and the stability of the visitor base to the region. It has also achieved a leap in overnight stays and tourism spending, with the total number of overnight stays recording remarkable growth during the same period, rising from less than 40.7 million nights in 2022 to over 64.2 million nights in 2024, achieving a growth rate of 58%. This coincided with an increase in the average length of stay from less than 6 nights to 8.6 nights, with a growth rate of 28%, reflecting a clear shift in visitation patterns towards longer stays and deeper tourism experiences.
This transformation is accompanied by an increase in total tourism spending from less than 7.4 billion riyals in 2022 to over 9.1 billion riyals in 2024, confirming the growing economic impact of the tourism sector in the region.
“Growing Global Recognition”
The ambitious development plan adopted by the Asir region, based on the skillful utilization of its natural and cultural diversity, has led to increased international recognition, as evidenced by its selection as a global region for culinary arts in 2024 and the inclusion of the two historical villages of Tabbab and Rijal Almaa in the list of the best tourist villages in the world.
The attractions in Asir extend to include mountain peaks, coastal plains, shores, and deserts, in addition to hundreds of archaeological sites, including villages, historical buildings, and ancient markets.
“Active Tourism Calendar and Expanding Air Connectivity”
The Asir tourism calendar for 2025, through the programs “Spring in Purple” and “Cooler and Closer,” has contributed to activating seasonal movement, with the percentage of Gulf visitors rising by 49% during the summer season.
This was supported by the expansion of air connectivity through more than 9 airlines, linking Abha International Airport to over 10 local and international destinations, facilitating access and enhancing tourism demand.
“Growing Economic and Investment Impact”
The tourism growth coincided with a parallel economic expansion, represented by a 35% increase in the number of small and medium enterprises operating in the tourism sector over three years, rising from less than 9,767 establishments in 2022 to over 13,177 establishments in 2024.
On the investment front, Asir witnessed a qualitative leap in its investment portfolio, which increased from less than 400 million riyals to over 15 billion riyals in committed investments across various sectors.
“International Presence and Sustainable Path”
On the international level, Asir has joined several global tourism organizations, including UN Tourism, PATA, and GSTC, enhancing its global position within a sustainable and long-term tourism trajectory, and confirming its status as a destination with a comprehensive vision for growth.
