عقد مجلس الشؤون الاقتصادية والتنمية اجتماعاً عبر الاتصال المرئي. وفي بداية الاجتماع، استعرض المجلس التقرير الشهري المُقدم من وزارة الاقتصاد والتخطيط، الذي تضمن مستجدات الاقتصاد العالمي وآفاق نموّه خلال العام 2026م في ظلّ التحديات التي تواجهه، والتأثيرات المحتملة على الاقتصاد الوطني، وقدرته على التكيّف مع المتغيرات الاقتصادية العالمية، مبرزاً التوجه الإيجابي الذي تعكسه مختلف المؤشرات الاقتصادية والمالية، من ضمنها نمو الناتج المحلي مدفوعاً باستمرار صعود الأنشطة غير النفطية، وتعافي الأنشطة النفطية، ونمو الإنتاج الصناعي، واستقرار معدل التضخم بدعم من مختلف الإجراءات الحكومية في ضبط أسعار العقار وتحقيق التوازن العقاري.
واطلع المجلس خلال استعراضه عدداً من المعاملات الإجرائية، على ما يتعلق بإنهاء برنامج التخصيص، بعد أن انتهى البرنامج من تنفيذ واستكمال أعماله ومبادراته، إذ تابع أداء البرنامج خلال المرحلة الماضية وما حققه من إنجازات أسهمت في تعزيز دور القطاع الخاص، وتحسين كفاءة تشغيل الأصول الحكومية، إلى جانب تطوير بيئة تشريعية جاذبة للاستثمار عبر إقرار الأنظمة واللوائح ذات الصلة، بما يحقق التنوع الاقتصادي، ويرفع القدرة التنافسية للمملكة.
ويأتي إنهاء برنامج التخصيص في إطار التحول من مرحلة التأسيس التي أكملها البرنامج بنجاح إلى مرحلة التنفيذ وتعظيم الأثر من خلال اعتماد الإستراتيجية الوطنية للتخصيص، التي عملت على مراجعة المستهدفات، وتنمية الفرص المختلفة، ووضع إطار وطني شامل لتحديد المبادرات حسب القطاعات ذات الأولوية.
كما اطلع المجلس على العرض المقدم من مكتب إدارة المشروعات بأمانة مجلس الشؤون الاقتصادية والتنمية حيال متابعة القرارات والتوصيات الصادرة عن المجلس خلال فترة الربع الرابع من عام 2025م، وذلك في إطار الحرص والاهتمام اللذين يوليهما المجلس في متابعته لمستوى إنجاز الجهات للمهمات والتكليفات المسندة إليها، إذ تضمن العرض تفصيلاً لمتابعة القرارات والتوصيات، ومخرجات المجلس لدى الجهات الممثلة، وإحصاءات تفصيلية لمستوى الإنجاز.
كما أحيط المجلس بنتائج الملخص التنفيذي الشهري لنشرة الرقم القياسي للتجارة الخارجية، والملخص التنفيذي الربعي لنشرة الناتج المحلي الإجمالي والحسابات القومية، وملخصين عن التقريرين الشهريين للرقم القياسي لأسعار المستهلك وأسعار الجملة، والتقارير الأساسية التي بُنيت عليها الملخصات. واتخذ المجلس حيال تلك الموضوعات القرارات والتوصيات اللازمة.
The Economic and Development Affairs Council held a meeting via video conference. At the beginning of the meeting, the council reviewed the monthly report submitted by the Ministry of Economy and Planning, which included updates on the global economy and its growth prospects for the year 2026 in light of the challenges it faces, and the potential impacts on the national economy, as well as its ability to adapt to global economic changes. The report highlighted the positive trend reflected in various economic and financial indicators, including the growth of the gross domestic product driven by the continued rise of non-oil activities, the recovery of oil activities, the growth of industrial production, and the stability of the inflation rate supported by various government measures to control real estate prices and achieve real estate balance.
The council, during its review of several procedural transactions, was informed about the completion of the privatization program, after the program successfully executed and completed its work and initiatives. It monitored the program's performance during the past phase and the achievements it made that contributed to enhancing the role of the private sector, improving the efficiency of government asset operations, and developing an attractive legislative environment for investment through the approval of relevant regulations and laws, which achieve economic diversification and enhance the competitiveness of the Kingdom.
The conclusion of the privatization program comes as part of the transition from the foundational phase, which the program successfully completed, to the implementation phase and maximizing impact through the adoption of the national privatization strategy, which worked on reviewing targets, developing various opportunities, and establishing a comprehensive national framework to identify initiatives according to priority sectors.
The council was also briefed on the presentation provided by the Project Management Office at the Secretariat of the Economic and Development Affairs Council regarding the follow-up on the decisions and recommendations issued by the council during the fourth quarter of 2025, as part of the council's keen interest in monitoring the level of achievement of the entities in the tasks and assignments entrusted to them. The presentation included details on the follow-up of decisions and recommendations, the council's outputs with the represented entities, and detailed statistics on the level of achievement.
The council was also informed about the results of the monthly executive summary of the foreign trade index, the quarterly executive summary of the gross domestic product and national accounts, and summaries of the monthly reports on the consumer price index and wholesale prices, as well as the core reports on which the summaries were based. The council made the necessary decisions and recommendations regarding these topics.
