تحت رعاية خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود، تُعقد النسخة الخامسة من مؤتمر التعدين الدولي خلال الفترة من 13 إلى 15 يناير 2026 بمدينة الرياض، تحت شعار «المعادن.. مواجهة التحديات لعصر تنمية جديد»، وذلك بتنظيمٍ من وزارة الصناعة والثروة المعدنية.
ورفع وزير الصناعة والثروة المعدنية بندر بن إبراهيم الخريّف، الشكر والامتنان لخادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود، على استمرار الرعاية الكريمة لمؤتمر التعدين الدولي، ولولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود، على تمكينه ودعمه المتواصل، مشيرًا إلى أن النسخة الخامسة من المؤتمر ستواصل ترسيخ مكانة المملكة قائدةً للحوار حول مستقبل قطاع التعدين والمعادن في العالم، وتعزز الدور المحوري للمؤتمر؛ كونها منصة عالمية رائدة لصياغة مستقبل المعادن، وتعزيز سلاسل الإمداد المسؤولة.
وأكد أن المؤتمر أثبت خلال السنوات الأربع الماضية دوره بصفته محفّزًا رئيسًا لمعالجة التحديات الأكثر إلحاحًا في قطاع التعدين، وتعزيز الاستثمارات في القطاع، وضمان وفرة الإمدادات المعدنية المسؤولة، مبيّنًا أن المملكة أصبحت لاعبًا فاعلًا في الجهود العالمية المرتبطة بمستقبل المعادن.
وأوضح أن مؤتمر التعدين الدولي ينطلق من المملكة ليجمع العالم حول هدف مشترك، يتمثل في توفير المعادن اللازمة لعصر جديد من التنمية العالمية والازدهار والاستقرار، خصوصاً في الدول المنتجة للمعادن، ويشكّل دعوة للعمل الجماعي، ومنصة لصياغة شراكات جديدة، مفيدًا أن شعار النسخة الخامسة يعكس إدراكًا عالميًّا متزايدًا بأهمية المعادن، ليس فحسب للصناعات بل لتقدم البشرية جمعاء.
وتحشد نسخة المؤتمر 2026 الجهودَ الدولية من قبل الحكومات وشركات التعدين والمؤسسات المالية والمنظمات الحكومية وغير الحكومية؛ لتعزيز الحوار حول مستقبل المعادن، ومن المقرر أن ترتكز هذه النسخة على ثلاث ركائز إستراتيجية، تسعى إلى تحويل التحديات إلى فرص عمل إقليمية ودولية فعّالة، وتشمل الركيزة الأولى تطوير نماذج تمويل مبتكرة للبنية التحتية، تتيح تفعيل سبعة ممرات معدنية رئيسة في أفريقيا وأمريكا الجنوبية، ضمن مسار يمكن توسعته لاحقًا ليشمل مناطق أخرى، بينما تقوم الركيزة الثانية على بناء القدرات في الدول المنتجة للمعادن، من خلال إنشاء شبكة عالمية من مراكز التميّز المتخصصة في علوم الجيولوجيا، والابتكار، والاستدامة، وتطوير الكفاءات والسياسات التنظيمية، إلى جانب العمل كركيزة ثالثة على تعزيز الشفافية عبر سلاسل التصنيع، من خلال إطلاق نظام تجريبي لتتبع سلاسل الإمداد، يمكن اعتماده وتوسعته عالميًّا في مراحل لاحقة.
من جهة أخرى، يواصل الاجتماع الوزاري الدولي للوزراء المعنيين بشؤون التعدين، الذي ينعقد في إطار النسخة الخامسة من المؤتمر؛ ترسيخ مكانته أكبر منصة حكومية متعددة الأطراف تُعقد في مجال التعدين، ففي نسخته الرابعة لعام 2025م؛ شارك في الاجتماع 90 دولة، من بينها 16 دولة من مجموعة العشرين، ونحو 50 منظمة دولية، بما في ذلك الأمم المتحدة والبنك الدولي، والمجلس الدولي للتعدين والمعادن، ومنظمة الأمم المتحدة للتنمية الصناعية، والمنظمة الدولية للمعايير، وركّزت النقاشات التي دارت في الاجتماع، على سبل تعزيز التعاون الدولي في «منطقة التعدين الكبرى» التي تضم أفريقيا، وغرب ووسط آسيا، ومناطق التعدين الأخرى.
ونتج عن تلك النقاشات العديد من المبادرات النوعية، أبرزها الاتفاق على إطار دولي للمعادن الحرجة لتعزيز التعاون العالمي في إنشاء سلاسل توريد مرنة، ووضع إطار للاستدامة يعكس تطلعات الدول المنتجة للمعادن، مع تعزيز الشفافية في سلاسل التوريد عبر نظام التتبع والشهادات المعتمدة، وإنشاء شبكة من مراكز التميز في منطقة التعدين الممتدة من أفريقيا إلى غرب ووسط آسيا؛ لبناء القدرات في هذه المنطقة.
وحظيت النسخة الرابعة من مؤتمر التعدين الدولي بمشاركات دولية واسعة، إذ بلغ عدد المشاركين في حضور المؤتمر 18 ألف مشارك من قادة قطاع التعدين، ورؤساء كبرى الشركات التعدينية، وخبراء ومختصين في تقنيات التعدين من 165 دولة، كما بلغ عدد المشاركين في جلسات المؤتمر البالغ عددها 96 جلسة 405 متحدثين من أصحاب المعالي الوزراء، وأصحاب السعادة السفراء، ورؤساء وفود الدول المشاركة في المؤتمر.
وشهدت النسخة الأخيرة من مؤتمر التعدين الدولي، إعلان توقيع 126 اتفاقية ومذكرة تفاهم بقيمة إجمالية بلغت 107 مليارات ريال، في مجالات متنوعة تشمل الاستكشاف والتعدين والتمويل، والبحث والتطوير والابتكار، والاستدامة وسلاسل القيمة المضافة والصناعات التعدينية، كما أعلن خلال المؤتمر 4 مشروعات إستراتيجية، هي: إطلاق مشروع مشترك بين شركتي أرامكو ومعادن لاستكشاف المعادن الحرجة اللازمة لتحول الطاقة، وإعلان شركة معادن اكتشافات جديدة تشمل توسعة محتملة لمنجم منصورة ومسرة، واكتشافات بوادي الجو ورواسب شيبان، وفي قطاع الحديد والصلب؛ أعلنت شركة حديد استحواذها الكامل على شركة الراجحي للصناعات الحديدية، مع خطة استثمارات بـ 25 مليار ريال لتلبية احتياجات المشاريع العملاقة، فيما أعلنت شركة «باوستيل» الصينية خلال المؤتمر بناء أول مصنع متكامل للصلب خارج الصين، في المملكة، وذلك بالتعاون مع شركة «أرامكو» وصندوق الاستثمارات العامة.
وتضمنت فعاليات المعرض الدولي المصاحب للنسخة الرابعة من المؤتمر، مشاركة أكثر من 170 عارضًا من مختلف أنحاء العالم، يمثلون سلسلة القيمة في قطاع التعدين والمعادن، إلى جانب أجنحة وطنية لدول عدة، تشمل أستراليا، والنمسا، والسويد، والمملكة المتحدة، ومصر، والهند، وباكستان.
يذكر أن النسخ السابقة من المؤتمر شهدت مشاركة عددٍ من الوزراء والرؤساء التنفيذيين لأبرز شركات التعدين العالمية، مثل BHP، Ivanhoe Mines، Rio Tinto، Ma'aden، Zijin، وBarrick Gold؛ مما يؤكد مكانة المؤتمر بوصفه ملتقى للنخبة في قطاع التعدين.

Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the fifth edition of the International Mining Conference will be held from January 13 to 15, 2026, in Riyadh, under the slogan "Minerals... Facing Challenges for a New Era of Development," organized by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources.
The Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al Khorayef, expressed his gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for the continued generous patronage of the International Mining Conference, and to Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his enabling and ongoing support. He pointed out that the fifth edition of the conference will continue to establish the Kingdom's position as a leader in the dialogue about the future of the mining and minerals sector globally, and enhance the conference's pivotal role as a leading global platform for shaping the future of minerals and promoting responsible supply chains.
He confirmed that the conference has proven its role over the past four years as a major catalyst for addressing the most pressing challenges in the mining sector, enhancing investments in the sector, and ensuring the availability of responsible mineral supplies, indicating that the Kingdom has become an active player in global efforts related to the future of minerals.
He explained that the International Mining Conference originates from the Kingdom to gather the world around a common goal, which is to provide the minerals necessary for a new era of global development, prosperity, and stability, especially in mineral-producing countries. It represents a call for collective action and a platform for forging new partnerships, noting that the slogan of the fifth edition reflects a growing global awareness of the importance of minerals, not only for industries but for the advancement of humanity as a whole.
The 2026 edition of the conference mobilizes international efforts from governments, mining companies, financial institutions, and governmental and non-governmental organizations to enhance dialogue about the future of minerals. This edition is set to focus on three strategic pillars aimed at transforming challenges into effective regional and international job opportunities. The first pillar involves developing innovative financing models for infrastructure, enabling the activation of seven major mineral corridors in Africa and South America, within a framework that can later be expanded to include other regions. The second pillar focuses on building capacities in mineral-producing countries by establishing a global network of centers of excellence specializing in geology, innovation, sustainability, and the development of competencies and regulatory policies. The third pillar aims to enhance transparency across manufacturing chains by launching a pilot system for tracking supply chains, which can be adopted and expanded globally in later stages.
On another note, the international ministerial meeting for ministers concerned with mining, held as part of the fifth edition of the conference, continues to establish its position as the largest multilateral governmental platform in the mining field. In its fourth edition in 2025, 90 countries participated in the meeting, including 16 countries from the G20, and nearly 50 international organizations, including the United Nations, the World Bank, the International Council on Mining and Metals, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and the International Organization for Standardization. The discussions that took place in the meeting focused on ways to enhance international cooperation in the "Great Mining Region," which includes Africa, West and Central Asia, and other mining areas.
These discussions resulted in several qualitative initiatives, most notably the agreement on an international framework for critical minerals to enhance global cooperation in establishing flexible supply chains, and the establishment of a sustainability framework that reflects the aspirations of mineral-producing countries, while enhancing transparency in supply chains through a tracking and certification system, and the creation of a network of centers of excellence in the mining region extending from Africa to West and Central Asia to build capacities in this area.
The fourth edition of the International Mining Conference witnessed wide international participation, with 18,000 participants from mining sector leaders, heads of major mining companies, experts, and specialists in mining technologies from 165 countries. The number of participants in the conference sessions, which totaled 96 sessions, included 405 speakers from ministers, ambassadors, and heads of delegations from participating countries.
The last edition of the International Mining Conference saw the announcement of 126 agreements and memoranda of understanding with a total value of 107 billion riyals, in various fields including exploration, mining, financing, research and development, innovation, sustainability, and value-added mining industries. During the conference, four strategic projects were announced: the launch of a joint project between Aramco and Ma'aden to explore critical minerals necessary for energy transition, the announcement by Ma'aden of new discoveries including the potential expansion of the Mansourah and Massarah mine, discoveries in Wadi Al-Jaw and Shiban deposits, and in the iron and steel sector, Hadeed announced its full acquisition of Al Rajhi Steel Industries, with an investment plan of 25 billion riyals to meet the needs of mega projects. Additionally, the Chinese company Baosteel announced during the conference the construction of the first integrated steel plant outside China, in the Kingdom, in collaboration with Aramco and the Public Investment Fund.
The accompanying international exhibition for the fourth edition of the conference featured participation from over 170 exhibitors from around the world, representing the value chain in the mining and minerals sector, along with national pavilions from several countries, including Australia, Austria, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Egypt, India, and Pakistan.
It is worth noting that previous editions of the conference saw participation from several ministers and CEOs of leading global mining companies, such as BHP, Ivanhoe Mines, Rio Tinto, Ma'aden, Zijin, and Barrick Gold, confirming the conference's status as a gathering for the elite in the mining sector.
